You could listen to Barry for hours. Never a bad word and never a curse, just good fun and jokes from a life well lived. What a loss.

I had the immense honour of meeting and working with Barry Cryer. He was indeed as wonderful and generous as all the tributes say. I loved him, his performances, stories and writing. Thank you so much for putting this up. I shed a tear for him last week, as I am doing again now. He was so special.

Bless him. I've tears in my eyes from laughing.

One of the very few,  truly great human beings.  Much missed.

Thank you very much for posting this. Had me grinning from beginning to end.  Most of us really don't know just how much of other British humourists  'funny bits' actually originated with Mr Cryer.  He will be missed and certainly no future comics will ever match his wit and gentle style.

RIP sir condolences to his family and friends 🙏

RIP... To a great writer and person....

Barry was the full all-round package.  Delight guaranteed.

The Churchill story reminds me of the Spike Milligan tale of meeting him during the war - Churchill asked Spike "& what do you do?"...Spike, unable to think of an answer, and said "I do my best!" Churchill thought for a few moments, and said "The way things are going, that might not be good enough!"

RIP Barry 23/5/1935-27/1/2022
