The inspector needs to lose his license and be personally sued for not doing his job properly.

Maybe you should cover your involvement in the "Holmes Approved Homes" campaign.

We are on our 7th home in 30yrs and my wife is great at reading and interpretating home reports, she's great at going round viewings and spots loads of things not on the reports and looking at what is, she knows how much it would take to fix everything. We have looked at approx 50 houses over the years and she remembers everything about each one that we didn't buy.

Government building inspectors should be held responsible for what the couldn’t be arsed finding or for what they where paid not to find ? Both the builder and the inspector should be financially responsible

People who want to buy a home, should go through the house and see if there's any places that they want the inspector to look at. Like the very lose handrail on the back yard deck, the propesct owner should be able to tell that is not correct.

Code requires that outlet by the sink HAS TO BE GFI.( here in the U.S.)
Need to research the inspectors past inspections see how much he missed on other jobs. If it's a constant...pull his license as he doesn't know his job.

Pretty cool the homeowners are proactive. But maybe consult a professional first, that pipe glueing work is wild.
