Gen z doesn’t have individual personalities because they’re scared of being considered cringe 🤷🏽‍♀️ so they wait for personality traits to be validated before they add them in

I’m a neurodivergent Gen Z, and the bullying and belittling I experienced growing up (just for being who I am), really made me realize how much people hate uniqueness

no one bullys harder than gen Z with 0 personality

I think the worst part of this is the videos telling us ‘cool/hot/it girl hobbies’ like hobbies are supposed to be something u find because YOU like it but ppl are js forcing themselves into one to seem ‘chic’ or ‘authentic’

@TheDerpyMuffin 11 months ago (edited)

Sadly having one is considered "cringe" in today's standards, it's sad, until some viral person does it, then it's considered allowed

I’m gen z but I don’t have social media. Been weird my whole life and authentically/creatively social media is a death trap

@justsatan6747 11 months ago

Was weird, tried to be normal, realized that was not for me. I am cringe but I am happy and free, and surrounded by people who wouldn't trade me for the world. Be unapologetically yourself, folks

When people use TikTok lingo in real life conversations, I check out.

I hate to point this out, but teens of any generation have been dressing in the same styles and trends. If you look at teens in the 80s they all had the same hair and jackets too. The difference is that you have to grow out of this as an adult. You leave school, work a job and become your own person. Teen pressure is and always has been brutal. It's good that this video raises compassion and awareness though, but it's not a unique gen z thing. But even in 2025 if you just grow up, work your job and make your own irl friends.. none of what people pressure online via tiktok is relevant anymore. And at some point - even if you still cared - society deems you too old and stops caring whether you're on trend or not. People stop asking for your opinion on things etc.

As a 23 year old who is Gen Z, I’ve been called weird and awkward my whole life for having my own style. Older people are better to get along with because people who are my age is the same and it’s boring.

I'm autistic and I was bullied in high school for my futuristic fashion. I would wear a lot of white, pastels, holographic and black. They would roll their eyes, flirt with me as a joke, and talk to me like I was a kid.

When i was a piercer, a lady came in the shop asking me if i could pierce her daughter ears. Not thay she wanted to have them pierce but all her friends had them and bullied her for that. I gave her a pair of magnetic earrings and told her that was a good moment to teach her daughter that she doesnt have to do everything her friends do and to be herself.

I recently read Fahrenheit 451 and it made me realize stuff was worse than I thought. Bradbury predicted that we would all be consumed by a need for consumption, for constant entertainment, loosing connection with other people, and loosing ourselves with our inability to think and form opinions on our own.

As a 97 baby, I’m considered gen z, but I relate so much more to millennials. Social media created such a huge gap in mindset between older and younger gen z. When I was a preteen, social media was something you used on the family computer after school for like an hour.

Regardless of being online or not people as a whole need to come to terms that we all have multi-dimensional personalities. We can be happy and quiet, happy and talkative, quiet and tired and also happy, etc. Thinking or demanding or believing someone should be a certain way all the time can easily evolve to abusive relationships where someone gets their emotional regulation from you and leads to lack of boundaries. Instead of appreciating people and how they show up as they are we’re demanding.

92 baby here. I always did what I want and didn’t follow fashion trends. I was desperately lonely and bullied a lot in middle school. Learn not to care what people think but what you think.

This is why I dislike the concept of having an "aesthetic" because humans are so complex and layered I can't fathom to think we fit into one thing. Even for myself there's so many things I enjoy that make me me.

@bigdaddycoldcuts 11 months ago

Turning 30 was the best thing to happen to me. I stopped caring what any of y'all think.

@TheBepis3344 11 months ago

0:23 This just about sums up this entire generation and your average weird kid's experience (we're weird cos we aren't clones)

@sarebear7777 11 months ago

I think the main reason people all seem the same is because people spend too much time on social media. If you interact with the average person they're going to be very different from what is displayed on social media, outside of people who only follow social media trends.
