These new vans have all the build quality of a Wimpey starter home.

Best honest review I’ve seen a tradesman saying as it is ,these vans all got out of hand with the thanks of Vw people paying 60k for a van get a grip vans are meant to be for the working class tradesman ,20k is a lot for MWB BUT 55k that’s RangeRover money as they are about reliable as the wet belt engine .Go back to the roots of the vans when you could get a decent van for 10-15k max ,spot on with the video 👊

electronic issues  are the new rust,

I'm a self employed Gardener/Handyman and I use a 2009 Subaru Forester, pretty economical to run, flat loading boot, and with the back seats down I can get a 1850mm x 950mm garden gate flat in the back, plus if I put the front passenger seat flat down I can get 3000mm lengths in the car from the front footwell to the back

In work we have 6 of them. Rear doors catch on the light clusters

Wet belt means I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole to be honest.

Great Video. Really enjoyed it. I've got a 2014 2.2 transit custom remapped to 190 hp.What a lovely drive. things are just going wrong so choices choices a hard van to follow. Remembering the old transits. I've still got weld splatter scars on my arms and chest. Rust wise they've come on leaps and bounds from the old ones.

Nobody is paying retail for any vans.
A brand new transit custom diesel is £31k for a limited manual 2 litre. Plus vat.
I just put a new wetbelt on my current custom.
55 thousand miles.
3 oil services from new.
Mechanic gave me the old belts .
They were in mint condition.
Wouldnt have known they did 55K
All this scaremongering about the wetbelt is mostly vans that are never serviced and do 80 thousand miles in 2 years.
Has this guy never driven a van before ?
With no load in the back of course the ride will be firm.

I had one and it was shocking. Gave it back to Ford after the courtesy vehicle they gave me packed up aswell. 2 vans in 4 weeks and both badly failed. The funny thing is that I was still connected to the app weeks later and I could see where it was going. It ended up in an auction. This was nearly a year ago. I've just googled the reg and it's had a full makeover from Manchester van sales and it's on sale for 44k

I'm a chippy, all my vans over the years get bashed about. I always look after them mechanically with regular servicing and maintenance etc but they do just get wrecked on site. Like you say If I had a 55k van on site id be constantly worried about damage especially in a non white van as dents look worse in my opinion. My mates wet belt went at 18k so that's also a big no no for me. Heated seats/steering wheels are for the Mrs on the chilly school run, I don't want or need any of this silliness in my vans.

I’ll grab one in 4-5 years. I do like the idea of the hybrid

Van prices are absolutely bonkers now, bought my limited for 15k no vat less than 1 yr old , 12k mikes from ford Loughborough,
5 yrs later worth 15k on autotrader,😅
Keeping it as long as poss,
Made sure i changed belt and services every year, never miissed a beat

When i first started work around 79/80 i had an S reg MK1 Transit twin wheeler, great capacity the only weakness was the V4 engine being underpowered and of course no driver comforts but that's not what they were about.
After that i got a standart MK1 Transit with a 1.6 engine, again the weak part was the engine, after that i got a W reg MK2 Transit with a 2.0 engine, best transit i ever had,not underpowered and would do 100 mph flat out all day long if you wanted to,i went all over the country in that van and had no complaints at all it was also a bit more comfortable than the last two
Sometime after that i had a Fiat Ducato once again underpowered for the size of van and then a1998 Renault Master with a 2.8 Tdi engine apart from the crappy ball joints and wheel bearings that was a fantastic van all round i just wish that engine had been available when i got my first transit.
I will say one thing though, the transits were rbasic but reliable and i cannot ever remember breaking down in one.

My company van is a 2018 automatic transit, on 114k ,it's only had basic servicing, wet belt changed last year @ 90k , Its the last van left on the fleet as they been replaced with sprinter's, or new transits . I'm desperately hanging on to my van as it's been probably the best van I've had for work in 30years .

To anybody that has had one over the winter. Is the de-mister control in the touchscreen?
Just wondering about that time it fails, will you be in a van that you can't see out of or is it automatic?
The column shift won't be a problem mate, have had quite a few cars like that and never made any mistake.

I do like the shape of them, but as you say all the money is at the front & not the back. The radio is good but no physical knows or buttons to control heat etc all done via touch screen which I find off putting.... have seen a few trades vans of this model & they have had imperfections aswell 😮 Lack of usb ports & 12v ports aswell in the front which is annoying. The main beam at night is very bright i must say & the auto headlight adjustment is good aswell when driving

The suspension is firmer on them because ofvthe weight of the hybrid battery 🔋

I drive a leased 25 plate crafter, the firts thing I do is turn off the lane assist , everything including the heating controls is done the touchscreen not only is it a headache but also it's completely dangerous.

Great honest review.
i have got a new 25 plate sport due anytime. u do get good price when selling on in 3/4 years .
but concerning having to send 3 vans back .

Deals about if you look, just picked up a 75 plate Limited spec with 100 miles on  for 28.5k + vat
