The plaintiff says she gave the defendant a deposit on an apartment, and when she arrived to move in, everything was flooded. She says the defendant won't return her deposit so she's suing for the money she's owed. The defendants say the plaintiff started complaining about things the minute she moved in, even before a pipe broke in the place. They say when she demanded her money back, they gave her back her deposit. They say they kept two weeks' worth of rent because she had the apartment for two weeks. They are countersuing for unpaid rent.
