The most surprising part of the whole video is that you've never been stung by a wasp before. 😂  great video! That looks like a very decent RC crawler for the price.

5:37  right into the poison ivy.. 😂

Your 1/7 u4 desert racer from FMS is a Yikong design and so is the 1/7 Trophy truck.  They make good stuff, just not in our market very often.

3:33 thats called a Panhard rod / bar, basically just stops the rear axle from moving side to side.

When I first saw this truck, I thought it was just gonna be a scaled up version of the MN82. Looks like they put some nice thought into the design for this instead of just slapping some components together and pushing out another RTR. Great video as always bud!

My first vehicle was a (DESERT TAN) 84 Toyota pickup. My dad got it for me around Y2K.

Great trucks. The color was called desert tan btw

I felt that sting brother. That cold water right after would have had me dipping my foot 🐝

Those are some nice scale looking axles, and I really like the manual switch

When I a a kid we used to have a little storage shed at the catfish pond in the lower pasture.  One spring my dad and I went fishing and he got stung 32 times and I got 23 by red wasp in that little shed. All of the stings were on our head and neck.  Both our faces swelled up huge. Eyes were swelled shut, lips were comically huge and one of my nostrils looked like it had a golf ball stuck in it.  I've still got the Polaroid pictures my mom took of us afterwards.  Good times.  It's one of the few times I remember my dad laughing was when he'd talk about us flailing around trying to get out of that tiny 10x10 building while being swarmed by wasp.  More than 1 fishing rod was broken during the process.   We went back that night with a 2 cans of wasp spray and got revenge, lol.

DoRC just did a review of the FMS variation of this truck. Seems to be a pretty solid beginner crawler! Also I think that's why it has the FMS battery as it's a shared platform.

I have a Yikong YK4107 (Y60 Nissan Patrol) and love it. Basically the top end version of this where it has servos for the front and rear lockers (controlled individually), rear brakes for inside tire lock up for tight turns, and lights (low beams, Halo DRLs, rear tail DRLs, functional reverse lights, roof lights, and functional turn/hazard lights which you can unplug.  They're a Chinese company and are my second favorite brand, just under FMS, but just above Traxxas for trail trucks.

About the tires catching, the YK4107 had the same problem. I too cut my bumpers as well as slightly trimmed my fenders. Running any after market wheel is likely to have more negative offset (wheels stick out of the body) as the turbo fan wheels Yikong supplies are pretty high positive offset (wheels sucked into the body). Pair that with your basic 4.75" diameter tires you will have terrible rubbing. (Yikong uses smaller 1.65" x 4.56" hyrax clone tires).

I remedied this with somewhat positive offset wheel from Treal (the ones called vintage design on amazon). I also got the narrowest brass hubs I could fit while still clearing the rear brakes and then shaved them down a bit. Also dremeled more of my bumper underneath and cut the front of my rock rails. For better incline capability you do not want weight up high and you do not want the center of gravity increased with taller shocks. Although the taller shocks will have other advantages like approach and break over angles. On aliexpress you can buy brass portal covers and front brass counterweights for extremely low down weight. Also put a strip of tire weights inside my front wheels. Just search 4106 or 4107 for the brass. As the model Derby city is doing doesn't have rear brakes the rear bras may not fit, but I would really bother with rear weight anyway.

Have to try this truck I like how they saved so much on cost to give product for quality to under 300$ way to blow the competition away… you’re more involved with the lockers and learn its uses better for novice drivers or beginners…

Glad to see you do some crawler videos I put a couple videos out check them out nothing like your just performance skits

Dude your car  😂😂@16:30

That dont need foc, just switching that 1060 to 1080 esc so u can program it
And those stock seemed fine, but if you keep those longer ones, try to get softer rear spring, its defidently not flexing as well that front because its much heavier on front

The tires seem stiff but that spot in the video at 5:52 where they get caught in the bumper does give a pretty good idea of how much they will deform. It's always hard to tell just from watching a video. Hmm. Wonder if they are a little stiffer on purpose because they assume people will upgrade to a heavier body shell and/or add weight later down the road?

I think i found my crawler (purchase) for the year lol. That vintage sticker just seal the deal.

Fun fact, on their website they have a version of this with rear (hard) bumper and different light placement. And servos for the diffs.

Great presentation, excellent work as always! This rig could be really interesting. Let's see how reliable the electronics are and remain. Have a good start to the new week, bro! 👍

Looks cool! Like Toyos! 👍🏻💯

4:45 That's some high quality editing right there.

Move the battery forward  or find a smaller one that will fit up front
