"So join me"
Missed opportunity to say "Joint me"

Hey you forgot about the link belt

He has absolutely no idea how happy his editing makes me, the content is good but generally inapplicable to me, but boy do I love watching it. His general mood is so fun to me.

You had me at me "It's staying orange because I'm lazy."  XD

“Clogged like Chris Farleys arteries” might be the best joke and chuckle I’ve gotten from a DIY video. Bravo.

My wife got me one for father's day about 15 years ago. Not knowing what to look for, she just said, "Give me the best you got at the Ho** Dep**. Been very happy with mine but was seriously looking for a similar upgrade. Thanks for the information.

"It's orange." Personal attack to start the day, I see. Accepted.

4:18 my door make that sound as well...

I like how he took the time to tell us he wasn’t going to change the jointer color because he’s lazy. It’s details like that that keep me coming back! 😂

just for the newbies- "same factory" does not = same quality. All factories provide levels of quality for specific price points. Price points drive the design and manufacturing not competition.

To anyone watching this in 2023 this compromise and extra hassle no longer makes any sense. The prices have changed dramatically at Home Depot and the cutter heads - which YOU will not be getting for free. The cheap Rigid jointer now clock in at $800 plus an additional $300 for the Shelix version of the spiral cutterhead. The Lux version is another $100 over that. The cutter head price is assuming that you buy no extra replacement knives upfront, always a stupid decision in my opinion, and also assumes that you do not purchase either of the torque wrenches that you need to properly and safely secure the carbide cutters with. You can just use a regular wrench or screwdriver but then you're playing the guessing game of did I tighten down enough or did I tighten it down so hard that I cracked the carbide insert or stripped the hole out.

The Grizzly G0452Z comes with a helical cutterhead, a built in mobile base and is now about $1400.00 including the freight shipping. The bare minimum for the Rigid, conversion cutterhead and mobile base (usually $89 - $100) is going to be about $1200.00 before tax and shipping. Realistically you're now going to be very, very close to, if not over, the price of the Grizzly plus freight.

I just bought the Grizzly and couldn't be happier.

i never knew about direct tools outlet until now, and i just looked it up and there is one a few miles down the road from me. i think im in trouble!

One thing to keep in mind, just because they come out of the same factory doesn't mean they're the same.  Motors, bearings, blades, etc. can be easily changed for different production runs, other parts can be binned so the nicest ones go into the most expensive and the worst (but still usable) ones go into the cheapest, and how much effort is put into quality control can change.  Are they actually actually going through the effort of doing all that?  Who knows...  I'd still buy the cheapest one though lol

I could care less about what this video is about, I’m just here cause this man has me in tears from laughter every time I watch a video. The way he edits it with quick cuts is just stellar!! This needs to be a series on some sort of home network!!

I feel as if we need to start a Direct Tools Outlet Support Group, where we spend uncomfortable amounts of money on discount tools and ourselves feel better about doing so.

Chris Farley joke made me audibly say "too soon".

$1,250 for the Grizzly plus $125 for freight as well. First time here, nice video, quick and simple with good explanations. I'm subbing.

Did you know that there are more Trabants registered in Germany then Telas? Made me think of you when I read that.

I've been on the fence about changing the cutter head in mine. It's a good machine, and the right size for my workshop. Thanks for the info, watching this just cost me $350. But it's going to be well worth it.

I just want to let you know that every time you say Menards, I chuckle to myself. I feel like it's what a pirate screams when you kick them in the bollocks.

It is actually way quieter. A 7 db difference is almost half the intensity
