All endings explained, what they mean, and where Hellraiser: Revival could go next.

What’s next for Hellraiser: Revival? In this video, we break down all of the endings, what they mean for Aidan and Sunny, the truth behind the Rite of Rebirth, and where the franchise could go next.

We’ll look at how the entire story builds towards the final reveal, why Sunny was chosen as the Revenant Mother, what the Ascendant actually represents, and what both of Aidan’s final choices say about his character.

We’ll also go back through some of the wider Hellraiser history, from the original films and Clive Barker’s mythology through to the franchise’s attempts at television and gaming, before looking at what a potential sequel to Hellraiser: Revival could explore next.

Aiden learnt the hard way that Sunny is 'for the streets'

@spikesbestsuit4282 9 hours ago

Moral of the story and main takeaway....dont be a simp in the end she'll just want to be an inter dimensional pleasure demon.

I genuinely think

That Aiden’s Canon story is becoming a Cenobite, I feel as if Sunny and Aiden were a package deal.

Not just sunny, the sheer will of a man who single handedly stacked that many bodies in a single night is not someone you just scoff at.

You can see progressively how Aiden starts to enjoy the pain, enjoy the killing he’s a force to be reckoned with. You can’t make a Protagonist with that much plot armor and not give him more power.

Like how do we go from running from monsters to hunting them down? He’s 100% turning into a Cenobite.

He felt empty inside, I think the only real ending is him becoming a Cenobite even in the “human” ending you hear chains in the background

“The worst she can do is say no!”

Aidan becoming a Cenobite I hope that’s the true ending, and I would love to see a sequel where we play as him as a cenobite

The most badass looking personality ive come across is pinhead, especially the ascendant charecter, shish man what a piece of art

They showed us Such Sights indeed. The atmosphere is marvelous. Only a great artist(s) with unlimited imaginations could come to terms with such artwork. I’m so glad this is a step into the right direction of making this a multi games IP. While the Aiden’s story might have come to an end, there could be so much more new main characters. Game could go in multiple directions, Survival Horror, or an Action Horror, or could be a safer option like a mix between just like this one. Ohhh with the Ascended Hellpriest, now the possibilities are endless.

Very rarely in a video game have a chosen the “bad ending” as the genuine choice for my character. Crazy how I the game convinced me that becoming a Cenobite was the best pathway for Aidan.

@p3echyog565 14 hours ago

I hope they make a 2nd one

I would like to see developers consider making an Anti-Configuration, one that could kill the cenobites and close the doorway to hell. Hellraiser: Bloodlines was a bit goofy but the idea of a puzzle box that could be a huge threat to the cenobites is a solid idea. Hopefully, they won't resort to going to outer space to make one😂

This game ended up being a rather beatiful commentary on the toxic relationship and self-destruction, and how easy it us to confuse love with lust. Sunny never cared about Aidan, she was only with him for the pure hedonism, and even Aiden himsell by the end realises that what Zora was telling him the entire time was correct: he needed Sunny, not loved her. And the neat part is that even Cenobites were trying to warn him that he was fighting for a lost cause cause Sunny chosed this herself. So the end choice is really to either keep spyraling on the way of self-destruction and deluded search for meaning in hedonism, pretty much ignoring what Pinhead and Zora were telling you the entire game, or letting it go and starting a new life. And I know, I know, everybody in this comment section chose the cenobite ending, but I went the other way. If you read notes you would know that Aidan was showing a promice before meeting Sunny and destroying himself to keep her by his side, so there is a chance for him to start a new. Sunny never had that, simply because she didn't want it.

I see some comments mentioning that the try ending would be Aiden becoming cenobite. I strongly disagree. Hes essentialy hopelless in love an codependent on Sunny. At the same time, he’s is able to fight for his life, and life of the women she loves, being able to be empathetic and having some kind of eerie moral compass (his talks with Zora, releasibg Bruno, enjoying killing Marlowe for what he did etc.). I think we see two people - Sunny and Aiden respectively surrender and oppose their worst worst depths of soul. That’s why, I think if Sunny Is lost to pain, lust and primitive Chase after sensation Aiden is able to fight with his character as he did with monsters, just overcome the obstacles and bucior a new life - a normal one. Interesting thing is the lack of hand as a symbol. In some cultures the open hand over somebody symbolise death, many time hand is associated with ability to handle things. Aidan loosing due to Sunnys bite might somehow a metaphor of him loosing his ability to live the way as he did this far and Sunny choosing to overcome death eventually, but at cost of humanity, which never left Aidan. And thats why I think, that the OG canon ending is Lynch living and becoming somebody like Zora to protagonist of the sequel (if we get one).

You missed a detail. The Human ending there is the sound of chains at the very end.I changes the whole ending.

So now we have Lament config and now genesis config. Wonder what other titles the other cubes have.

If there is to be a sequel, I wonder if they will put in elements from the Scarlet Gospels that could be used. Such as including the fallen angel Lucifer where in the ending of that book, it is revealed that Pinhead was planning on ruling over Hell, but his plans was foiled and is ultimately killed by Lucifer. Either way, I thought this was a great game, and I hope this paves the way for more video games based off of Clive Barker's work. There is so much potential to be done. There could be a game adaptation of Weaveworld, or Books of Blood, I always wanted to see Raw Head Rex depicted as he is in the short story, there is also the Thief of Always, and I would love to see a video game that acts as a sequel to the movie Night Breed which was based off of the book Cabal. A Night Breed video game would be something I'd be really interested in. There's also the Tortured Souls project that Clive Was going to make into a movie, but decided to cancel it. That can be made into a video game, if Clive gives his manuscripts on those short stories to developers, and then there is the canceled Demonik game project that he was attached to when Majesco was still around. I was really bummed out when that game got canceled. I think Clive could make that still happen if he gives what he wrote down to a studio that will make it what it was supposed to be. So much potential in his works, and I hope studios do work with him on them.

But what exactly is “the Ascendant” and what is its purpose?

@nibzxx 6 hours ago

Brilliant game , for the price especially , it’s exactly what hellraiser is to me

@LitanyofIron 12 hours ago

I think theyll do a story expansion(hopefully) about the girl in white suit who escaped the club and maybe bruno since hes still around.

If they do a sequel i hope it follows a different story, aidens had a good ending so itll be cool to explore different views. Maybe a police detective hunting down bruno or some other killer. Maybe we can see sunny as a cenobite
