The harmonies in the Intro were all done by Freddie. The harmonies in the operatic section were done by Freddie, Brian and Roger using 180 overdubs. The “shiver” during the “sends shivers down my spine” part was created by Brian’s guitar. It took 3 weeks to record just this song. A Night at The Opera was the most expensive album made at that time. They used up to 6 different studios to record it.

2 billion view 50 years old and once again its at No1 in the charts (3rd time)

The very beginning of the song when it appears as though they are singing together and in harmony is actually just Freddie. His voice was multi tracked several times over and layered on top of each other to create the effect that many people are singing and singing in harmony

This is a rock opera. 🎹🎻🎸

There was no rest in the into, it’s Freddie on his own

Brian May, lead guitar, also has a PhD in astrophysics.

Best band in the world ever.

I remember as kid in the UK when this song came out, it stopped everyone in their tracks, it was so massive and groundbreaking. It sort of shifted everything the buzz was everywhere. I was seven and me and my friends were asking each other if we had gotten the album yet we were so taken back. A Night at the Opera is magnificent.  This is why 90% of Britain know the lyrics to this song, it had such an impact. The 2017 Green Day crowd is evidence of this, 65,000 people singing this song perfectly.

White Queen at Hammersmith Odeon is something.
1975

I don’t know how much history you know. Brian’s father built him that guitar because they didn’t have any money.

Want to know the real story of Queen watch These Are The Days (2012) the documentary about Queen from the beginning to the heartbreaking death of Freddie and the AIDS tribute concert for him 5 months later. The British version of the documentary includes extras including more stories from Brian and Roger, their amazing concert in Japan who adored them so much they have a national Queen day, and background film of videos they made and concerts in South America and Budapest. They were the first rock band to play in a communist country during the Cold War. The documentary delves deeper than any other film about these 4 incredible musicians.

This "short film" played on our Top of the Pops here in the UK,( one of the top viewed episode ever) is what led to MTV, and VH1. Back then our radio would not play anything over 3.4 mins. But Kenny Everett, a friend of Freddie was a DJ at Capital Radio here, he played it about 16 times over the week-end.. It was GREAT! It blew up everywhere, the rest is ROCK HISTORY!!  Queen opened doors for other bands. They were so far ahead!! I am so glad I saw them LIVE 3 times, what memories!!

The closest you can come to seeing Queen live with Freddie is the 1981 Montreal concert, they are going to show it in IMAX again. I swear, it's just like being there...I saw it twice last year. I was lucky enough to see Queen in Chicago in 1977, but the 1981 Montreal concert is FIRE!

Freddie did all vocals in beginning

Somebody to Love, Live, Montreal, 1981 is a must!

Fandango:a Spanish dance….Galileo: a 16th century astronomer…….Scaramouche: a clown character of the Commedia  in the 16th century……Bismillah: in the name of God….Beelzebub: one of the 7 demons…….Queen were educated to third level🤩

That "shivers down my spine" sound is Brian doing something with his guitar. He has explained it in interviews a few times.

It's so hard for me to believe this song turns 50 years old on Halloween this year,  I was already a Queen fan in 1975 but this song still gives me goosebumps every time I listen. Queen was ahead of it's time 👑

There's a video I think you will love its Brain explaining how they made Bo Rap x

I seen them live in 1982❤ amazing 🎉
