In 2013, MLB believed that pitchers throwing 100 mph (approximately 160 km/h) fastballs were the strongest.

Chapman, Kimbrel, Jansen—

It was an era when everyone thought speed was everything.

However, the final pitch to decide the world champion was entrusted to Koji Uehara, a Japanese pitcher whose fastball averaged only 145 km/h.

Why did the manager, catcher, and fielders all believe so strongly that "Uehara will definitely shut them down"?

This video thoroughly explains why 145 km/h held the value of world-class pitching, using historical data such as:

ERA 1.09
WHIP 0.57
101 strikeouts and only 9 walks
37 consecutive outs
"Boston Strong" after the Boston Marathon

and little-known anecdotes, along with these historical statistics,
we will thoroughly explain why 145 km/h held world-class value.

Please watch until the end to discover the true nature of "trust" that cannot be measured by speed.
