You need a pony cart! You don't have to ride in it, but lead them, and they can help you with the heavier up and down the hill projects.

OMG!? That turnip is the size of a small child!!!! Holy, what do you put in your soil???? I just about spit my coffee out when you pulled that out of the ground! wow! You guys are amazing! My Father is Irish and 99 years old and I am in the process of getting my Irish passport as I am in Canada. I am very much looking forward to going to Ireland again, this time with my daughter. Thanks for your videos, they make my Sunday morning coffee so enjoyable!

I put broad beans , raspberries , blackberries on a tray in the freezer and bag them when frozen. much easier.

I saw a fella on the internet who was growing potatoes in cardboard boxes. I'm presuming they were heavy duty cardboard, but he'd fill the boxes with soil and compost. He appeared to have a bumper crop. He also grew potatoes in big plastic buckets. I thought of you because you could keep the buckets around your house - no trekking up the hill.

I recommend putting chicken "saddles" on them. It stops the rooster from making wounds on them, this usually occurs if there's a smaller ration of male to female so possibly could be worth getting more hens.

You’ve really got yourself a beautiful piece of property. The three of you have really knocked it out nicely. You’re good people; caring well for your land, home, animals and each other. Best.

This was a great video. I enjoyed the recap. Also freeze your beans on cookie sheets for a hour or so then put into the bags. It will keep them separate.

Something for you to consider. If you intend this to be your forever home, it’s a good idea to minimise the effort required to produce. In particular, your vege garden. I fully understand your reasons for placing it “over the hills and far away”, but that will become impossible as you age.
Here is a longer term idea. Turn some of your really steep land into something productive by terracing it. Then build narrowish garden beds along the edge of each terrace, with a walkway between the inside edge of each bed and the wall of the terrace behind it. Initially it’s quite a bit of work, but you reap significant benefits — no more Hillary struggles, closer to the cabin so garden will get more attention, effectively your beds are raised so no more kneeling/crawling(which becomes important as you age), plus you turn a basically useless slope into productive land.
This may seem like overkill at present, but it is worth structuring a garden how you eventually want it right from the very beginning. Then it has the time to mature into a paradise while you are still young enough to benefit from it.

A lot of hard graft, a few tears and hopefully a lot of laughter. You worked so hard and accomplished so much. Well done!

This is a great recap! Appreciate the honesty about the issues ye have had to deal with. But as my dad used to say, ‘the man who never made a mistake, never made anything.’ Keep at it! Greetings from a very snowy and icy Elkins Park, PA. 😊😊

Everything coming on very well, The one thing i feel you need to do now winter time is your orchard...it takes 4 years before you get anything like a full crop even though you will get small amounts 2-3 years. winter is the time to bare root your trees then its time to wait to get fruit to harvest with only light work maintaining trees.

Feeding dried, crushed egg shells are great they in very high in super rich calcium for moulting hens, and when the cooler weather kicks in as both take a lot of energy for the chucks

@heatherdennett77 6 days ago

You need one of thise half size pick up trucks. They are tiny but would be helpful hauling all that soil and abundant harvests ❤

@suzannahdepasquale8029 8 months ago

Next year, keep the greens of the carrots, mix with basil and make a pesto to use in winter.

You need a good 4-wheeler ATV/tractor type that has a bed that you can load stuff on

@ronimiller1875 8 months ago

You all are amazing! All that in only two years AND while making a derelict home livable and beautiful! Not to mention bringing so much joy to 83.9K of your closest friends and biggest cheerleaders! Sending cheers and love from Utah, U.S.A. ~Roni

Yay🎉 So good!!! just look at how much you've accomplished--In Addition to restoring the cottage to it's sweet livable condition 🤗🥰😉

@thizizliz 8 months ago

Oh, you've done SO much!!! I have half an acre and it's becoming too much for me with caring for my spouse and housework, all that 'grownup' stuff. Your home is becoming more beautiful every week and so is the outdoors. The willow line is brilliant and I hope the other trees will thrive as well as you plant more and gain more knowledge. Really enjoying your videos.

Love it! You’re all doing amazing hard work.
Have you thought of setting up a homestead stand? With all your extra veg, berries, eggs, and more? It can help reduce waste and create funds for any updates for your garden and home. Also, inviting neighbors to come pick berries or charge per cup? It’s a fun family day to be able to do that. Plus the more berries you pick, the more your plant will produce.
