For the people who wanted to see me go down the hole again

A 5 hour video about the Stanley parable made by a YT I've never seen or heard before? Count me in.

The skip button segment was one of my favorite moments I've ever had playing a game. At first I let the Narrator do his monologues just to humor him, but the more the segment went on, the more I appreciated what the Narrator was saying. His "...but it was never meant to be funny!" monologue was especially poignant and I feel really captured the theme of the whole skip button segment. That feeling of pouring yourself into something only to have it misunderstood, unappreciated, or ignored and how a single person disliking something you accomplished can eat away at your confidence...

I'm rambling, aren't I?

After the epilogue, if you accept, you can finally set the unsettable setting and get the test achievement.

20 seconds in. I can't wait for this guy to talk about the bucket for nearly 5 hours.

The metaphor of relationship dynamics is so interesting to me. My favourite ending is the skip button ending because it's literally just Stanley/the player refusing to focus on the issue of the narrator working himself up about how people don't like the game and eventually the inability for the narrator to fix what he broke and as a result letting himself go mad in the billions of years of isolation we subject him to. The end is never the end when you refuse to let something go and that ending is one of the strongest showcases of that point in my opinion.

Insane algorithm pull,

I always felt like it was saying "the end is never the end" instead of just "the end is never" because it sounds better and because the game has many endings that don't actually finish the game

The curator is not saying that Stanley is dead because the player is controlling him, but rather because every ending of the game is already written, and in that ending, Stanley Stanley was already dead at the moment that the game was created.

One of the reasons why there “The end is never the end is never the end” on the loading screen is that stanley never really has any agency. All the endings are losses in some way where either the narrator or stanley asserts power over the other. The only “good” ending, the freedom ending, is ironically the ending in which stanley follows the narrator’s direction to a T. Im glad theres no true good ending though as it would invalidate all the other endings as sort of jokes rather than the whole purpose of the game.

Edit: the second narrator also talks about this. She believes the only solution is to not play the game at all, that is the only way stanley can have real freedom.

I used to think the escape pod ending was the good ending but then I read the small print and I realized. Its a pretty terrifying ending honestly

when i played this game originally as a kid, i thought this game was just a cool 4th wall breaking story. but in hindsight, the amount of layers every word the narrator says and the unbelievable amount of symbolism in EVERYTHING is genuinely overwhelming. also. HOW DO YOU ONLY HAVE 850 SUBSCRIBERS THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING ???!????? im 851 now love this <333

The tricky thing about studying the lore of the Stanley Parable is theres always another meta layer. Someone else I watched a video from had all these theories about the bucket and its personality and motives and control over the Narrator, and I just had to comment that there's literally an ending where the Narrator outwardly says it's all a joke. The game is almost a meta commentary on meta commentaries. No matter how deep you go, you always discover that it was all just a joke.

even with you spoiling a bunch of stuff, there were still some things you never came across that I've seen in other people's playthroughs, but I also saw some things here that I've never seen anywhere else, this game is truly massive

1:22:22 thats a very good narrator impression holy

The literal devastated GASP I released when I realized you had not experienced the BEST part of the New Content, which was going down the Infinite Hole again.  I was so surprised since you have been very thorough up until that point. I'm only 3 hours in so I'm hoping maybe at one point you do go down it, but I'll have to wait and see.  I truly hope for your own personal experience you go back and fall down the hole a few more times because it was, for me, one of the biggest things that made the Ultra Deluxe version worth playing. Whatever you think you're going to find down there, you will be wrong.

After like 45minutes of refreshing main page for recommendations i got my holy grail for the night.

I haven’t played Stanley parable, but this video seems interesting so I’ll save it for later, buy, download, and 100% Stanley parable, and then come back to the video

Not now babe, YouTube has blessed me with a 5 hour Stanley parable video

God I love when YouTube plucks a little nerd out of obscurity and shows them to me like “look at this nerd! They talked for 5 hours about something you googled once!!”

It’s perfect
