In this video, we’re taking a closer look at Jamal Bryant’s preaching style and asking whether too many of his sermons are built around appealing to women, relationship drama, cultural clichés, and familiar stereotypes rather than carefully explaining Scripture.

There’s nothing wrong with preaching directly to women or addressing relationships, family, dating, money, or issues affecting the Black community. Those are legitimate topics for the church.
The problem comes when biblical preaching starts sounding more like motivational speaking, relationship commentary, or a collection of cultural stereotypes than exposition of the Word of God.
Second Timothy 4:2 tells pastors to “preach the word.” A sermon should ultimately help people understand what Scripture says, what it means, and how it applies—not simply give the audience catchy statements, applause lines, and relatable cultural references.
In this video, we’ll examine Jamal Bryant’s sermons and ask some important questions:
Is the biblical text actually driving the message?
Are women being discipled, or simply marketed to?
Are cultural issues being handled biblically, or reduced to stereotypes and crowd-pleasing talking points?
And has modern preaching become too focused on being relatable instead of being faithful?
This isn’t about saying pastors can’t address real-life issues. It’s about making sure Scripture remains the foundation of the sermon instead of becoming a supporting character in somebody else’s message.
