The number 1 mixing tip of all time - "Go take that piss you've been holding for the last three hours"

I liked your number 12. As a Christian artist, my own songs have ministered to me numerous times!

"I don't care, do you want to be good or not?" Loved that! I have just discovered you as I start my journey in  home recording and I just love your "real person" personality. I have just finished my first project and I really enjoyed it. Everything you said just seems to make a lot of sense. I think I will be here a bunch. Thanks.

The first mixing secret make a big sense to me. "just like if it cannot be fix in the mastering stage, also it cannot be fix in the mixing stage" I love that.

Number 16 is the best advice. I mean... It's something I've struggled with for YEARS. All the other points are great, don't get me wrong. But what I've found out is that past a certain point (usually for me it's like 6 to 8 hours, even with breaks) I just lose where "North" is. And 90% of the time I come to the same mix the next day and find that EVERYTHING I've done over that threshold was shit. My hears just gave up.

Great advice. Great video. Kudos.

Yes! I can attest to each of these points.

Absolutely phenomenal advice. I can’t tell you how many hundreds of videos I’ve watched on audio production the past couple weeks while learning how to mix and master. You and “inthemix” are the only two I’ve found who give a very grounded transparent and human approach to their videos. Thank you my friend, truly. Many blessings to you and your family !

Thanks Joe! You definitely put it all into a digestible and organized perspective.

Love it Joe keep up the good work

So awesome to hear a guy from Mississippi that doesn’t sound like he’s from Mississippi!….. I’m from Mississippi so I can say this … yanowatimean?

Cheers again Joe 😊

Glad your still doing you thang Joe… always great nuggets you keep dropping.

Great video. Do you have any videos on the release process? Choosing a distributor / streaming platform / physical copies, copyrights, covers, etc. ?

I never comment on videos but I have to say, your genuinely funny and real, you explain so much without the "Ima tell u what to do u can copy it" , every part was essential. Like damn, I needed all of that. I was in a block. But hey thank you so much. You got a subscriber and I'm about to dive in the rest of your stuff. Hope to see more. Much love

The best thing about my decision to move over to Studio Pro has been discovering you, Joe. I learn more in any 5 minutes of your teaching than I do in half an hour of just about any other instructor.

Sore Thumb: it’s basically a reference to when most men used hand tools in their occupation. You’re holding something down with your right hand, you swing hammer with left hand and boom you accidentally hit your right thumb!!! It swells to twice it’s size and it’s sore.

Singing truth back to myself.. I love that!

I’m about 15 years into my recording/mixing journey and all of these notes resonated with me. All of these tips are true and good

Great video you man thank you for sharing ❤
