Season 2 finale was perfect. Grogu and Mando arc was complete, Luke would take him to begin his training, the bond was forged, everything was perfect. That final goodbye between the two was is so well done. They could’ve brought Grogu back for cameos in later seasons if they wanted that would’ve been fine

But sadly Baby Yoda had become a cultural phenomenon and Disney would rather choke on a billion dollar roll of money then risk losing such a cash cow.

So Grogu stayed…..and it was all downhill after that

Disney's like the guy who comes out with awful jokes and then the second he says a joke that's actually funny he repeats it so much that you want to blow your brains out.

The problem is in the name, the story started as "The Mandalorian", Grogu was supposed to be an ark of his story not a part of his entire story.

What's wild to me is that a bunch of corpo suits sat in a fancy meeting room discussing how to bring Star Wars back to theaters, and THIS is what they thought of.

This should have just been a Disney Plus special, not a theatrical release.

Bringing back Luke opened the door for overwriting the Sequel Trilogy, but Kathleen Kennedy immediately shut that door by forcing them to walk it back in Book of Boba Fett.

I was kinda aware of the Baby Yoda craze but it wasn't until a few years later that a coworker pushed me into watching the show. I watched S1 and S2 and surprised myself by really enjoying it. And a couple weeks later S3 dropped like a cold shower. All story set-ups abandoned. Character development gone.Replaced by corporate slop done by committee after focus groups. Very sad what was done to a good, fun show.

The movie wasn't awful, but I really don't see why it couldn't have just been two episodes of a new season. It really felt like two episodes were spliced together, with the natural break being when Mando goes back to his house to chill.

The culprit is ALWAYS the writing. Disney HATES paying for good writers and giving them the time to flesh out a good story. In this case they had plenty of time so it must merely be that they no longer care. They have eaten up the profits that they'll get and now regard Star Wars as a product only; they made this choice with season 3 of The Mandalorian and are in the process of milking it for profit only, it's not a saga, it's a mere product.

Mando and the bug shouldn't have been reunited. It was played out and the story completed. They should have gone their own ways. I'd have been more interested in a purely bounty hunter movie, maybe even with Mando as the target rather than the hunter.

They should have just finished the story on the small screen. Good or not, they left us completely hanging on the television show.

Jaws 1975 was actually the movie that defined the blockbuster.

Star Wars did take it to another level though.

At least we got Andor. I remember Diego Luna saying in a interview "we made this for the fans" and thinking, yeah Diego we've heard that one before. Lie did not he did. :P

For me, The Mandalorian started sputtering to its death during Season 2, when the show stopped being its own thing and started throwing legacy characters at viewers to get the reaction channels all weepy and weak-kneed. The stories those characters were in were fine enough, but the first season proved that they could tell a compelling story without relying on making fans all teary over [FILL IN LEGACY CHARACTER NAME HERE] showing up. The CGI in the S2 finale took any joy I could feel out of seen classic Luke again. It's a sad state of affairs that people were so desperate to be nostalgia-baited that they overlooked really shoddy FX.

Season 3 was just straight-up garbage, and it put the final nail in the Mandalorian's coffin for me. When that season ended with Din and Grogu on their personal tract of land, I treated that as the series finale, and that's how it remains for me.
