Alton Towers felt completely different as soon as the busy summer season ended—but have the cutbacks gone too far?

I visited Alton Towers on a Saturday at the beginning of September to explore the park, see the rides and attractions, and find out what the experience was like after the summer holidays.

Although the park was busy and the queue times weren’t too bad, it was disappointing to see so many cutbacks throughout the resort. The World of David Walliams only opening on peak days, the Skyride didn’t open until 1pm, and several parts of the park appeared to have dropped off dramatically since the summer season ended.
