Originally done by Neil Young in 1977, this timeless rock ballad was done again by Roxy Music in 1983.
The lyrics reflect a passionate and heartfelt expression of intense romance and the bridge in the chorus was influenced by Del Shannon's 1961 hit Runaway.
This is a typical Ferry/Roxy mastery with superb sax and guitar.
The elements of classic Rock and Roll featuring powerful guitar riffs, dramatic and emotive vocals solidify Roxy Music's status as an influential Rock band. Beautiful. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Lance. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Yes, Roxy Music doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, but they are indeed an iconic and legendary band, even if a little low on the radar.

That vibrato voice of Ferry’s . . .I just love his singing style!

Ferry is such an awesome interesting character

I was a bit worried about this cover version as I love Neil Young's original but it was in good hands with Roxy Music, one of my top ten bands!!😁🇬🇧

multiple songs on video from this concert. Roxy Music at their best, with the Haitian backup singers, in France. Great videos

Roxy was legendary for their live shows. Brian Ferry and the group do this masterpiece proper.

A unique version that add so much elements to this tune to make it so different yet so good!

You should listen to something from the 2001 Live at the Apollo. It's 20 years later and they still have it!

If you notice, it starts with a reggae groove and ends with a Salsa beat.
Great stuff!

I am both and Neil Young and Roxy Music fan, I I attended a Roxy Music concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl in 1983. When they performed this song I was in heaven, I did not expect Roxy to cover this. While I am a huge fan of Neil's original version, this Roxy version brings so many new elements and style, I love both versions for very different reasons. The rough edged original rocker and the sophisticated jazzy Roxy version. Roxy's Avalon tour ranks up there on one of my most favorite concerts I ever attended. Phil Manzanera on guitar closes this out so fantastically

Roxy Music covering Neil young; unexpected. Nice take on it.

The great Brian Eno came from this band. Later a collaborator on David Bowie’s “Low” album, an amazing and important album in the Bowie catalogue.

Nice choice Harri! Highly underrated British band from the glam-rock era, these guys had a lot of influence on Bowie, Iggy Pop and other artists from that era. Never heard this cover before, which is exciting in itself. The songs I have heard from this band are intense, and I enjoy the hell out of them! Let’s do this one Harri!

Saw Roxy do this live on the Avalon tour, and as a long time Neil Young fan I thinks its a great version. Still have their 12 inch version in my records.
