Axial SCX30 Review/FREE MODS!

Reviewing Axial SCX30 and coming up with some FREE MODS to improve the performance.

The Axial SCX30 is a brand new super micro RC crawler, and looking like it'll be a pretty popular little RC model. I tried not to watch any of the content that came out with the early models people got so that I could form an opinion on it without any outiside influence. I'm happy that I did, because I was really impressed with this little guy and I think it'll be a really popular model. I know some companies are already coming out with mods for this little thing and its been out for like what, a week? I'll have to check out the Ascent 32 next, but it's going to have to be REALLY good to stand up to the SCX30. Axial did a fantastic job with this one, and priced it super well. VERY IMPRESSED.

Happy about the motor being moved toward the front. One of the first free upgrades my fam did on the 24 was to put the battery under the hood to give more realistic weight distribution.

The most immersive trail truck expereince you will get this year, until you know who sells one into the 30th dimention. Can't wait for a 30 scale truck shoot-out later this year!

I'm surprised you didn't remove the roof rack & install the included plugs to cover the holes. I got the blue bronco & for some reason it included blue and white plugs. Had to paint the rear ones black. So glad I had a tiny Philips driver from my glasses 😅

This is my first hobby grade RC car and I want more. I use a plastic tool with an L shaped end on it to pull the front frame from the body as the fit is very tight and I don't like pulling on the wheels or suspension. I cut the battery connector nubs off too.

My dad and I are getting into rc cars but scx 30 parts and even 24 are so difficult to find in South Africa and I don’t think it’s fair we pay 140 usd in shipping alone😭😭😭

Lol, there has to be a better term than clipless in a system that still uses clips, albeit of a different kind.

I love this little beast. I have the same as you. It also comes with 4 little plastic blanking pieces for rack removal if you want to shave a little more from that top. Just need to hit the rear ones with a little satin black.

I've got my first upgrades coming tomorrow. Tungsten putty for some front axle weight and ud gears for the rear diff.

I love the 1/30 scale of crawlers. I have a couple of orlandoos but they are so fragile I never get a long run out of them. I can’t wait intill mine scx 30 (Green Jeep) comes in Jan. At least I’ll have options as the orlandoo and scx30 share the same kind of wheels😎
