1 Kings 19:1-18
In the Bible, we see a powerful, courageous man of faith used by God, Elijah.
At one point in his life, Elijah was afraid because he received a terrible threat.
And that man of faith, used by God, became depressed and bitter, to the point that he wanted to die.
Have you ever felt that way? How many times do we fall asleep in bitterness, wanting to forget what's happening to us, hiding, escaping?
The Bible tells us: "...In the world you will have tribulation..." but it also tells us that He has overcome the world.
We have victory, but in the midst of difficult situations, it's not hard to believe that God is involved.
God reminds Elijah of His power.
Inside the cave, God shows him mighty winds, earthquakes, and fire, but when He wants to speak to him, He sends His still small voice.
God is peace. He speaks to him in peace.
Elijah feared, he thought he was alone, but God told him there were 7,000 men who had not bowed their knees.
We are not alone; we must ask God to broaden our vision.
The Word says that the people perished for lack of knowledge, not for lack of feeling.
The mistake many Christians make is that they live by what they feel, and if they feel bad, they forget who God is.
If there is oppression, we must rebuke; authority belongs to Jesus; the devil flees.
God embraces us with His still small voice, which gives us security, confidence, and hope. He is on our side; He does not abandon us; He gives us victory.
