If you looked at the clip back to back and in slow motion youâll see coco raised her hands TWICE, once before Sun even hit the ball, then she raised it again after/as Sun hits the ball. So Coco was in the right here! And for anyone to think Sun was going to beat Coco đ đ đ
It was the lights that were flashing around the panels. It was flashing on both sides and honestly when the players are about to serve, they shouldnât be flashing at all or even during the match because itâs distracting. She had a right to talk to the umpire about that. Where you see âFILAâ it was flashing there. Coco doesnât have to cheat to win.
X is full of IT! Coco was gonna win cause thatâs the way it is! POINT BLANK PERIOD!âźď¸ Quit crying people and get over it! Yâall know better than to be petty!!!
The flashing was ad's on the side moving billboards. The call was correct but of course there are those who want to tear Coco down for merely ensuring fair play.
Coco followed the rules. The umpire should've stopped play when the lights started flickering. I'm sick and tired of these so-called tennis fans needing to use racial slurs to criticize something they don't like. I'm not saying it's being used here but it is being used on other platforms and it's disgusting! Any social media platform that allows that type of hateful rhetoric needs to be fined and experience suspensions. Congress could stop the spread of racism if they have enough representatives willing to pass resolutions to stop the ugly spread of racism. Freedom of speech should not allow someone the freedom to discriminate and spread hateful, harmful, ugly racism.
I just read Cocoâs response, and my mom always says, âHeavy is the head that wears the crown.â
Every little thing Coco does is magnified to an unbelievable degree, and Iâve genuinely tried to understand why her successâor seemingly anything she doesâmakes some people so uncomfortable. Then moments like this happen, and you see the jealousy, racism, and bullying come right to the surface.
Coco was well within her rights to ask for that point to be replayed. And she had already started coming to the net because she clearly recognized that was something she needed to do differently.
And letâs be serious: one point did not decide that entire match. If that one moment completely âaffectedâ Sun, how did she turn around and break Coco back when Coco served right after breaking her in the second set?
People need to calm down.
The reaction to this has become bigger than the actual incident, and it once again highlights some of the uglier issues that still exist in tennisâespecially in the way certain players are scrutinized, criticized, and treated.
Coco, we are proud of you! Beautiful win. â¤ď¸
Now let all of this fuel you to go win this darn thing!! đđžđ
Coco is a 2 x major champion , this girl is yet to prove herself, you can't be affected by one point so much that you actually think the 16 year old has arrived??!! Do you guys watch tennis? It happens.. deal with it and stop using this as an excuse to fuel your already existing hate for Gauff, that's all this is.. HATE FOR THE SUPREMELY TALENTED COCO GAUFF, wrap it up! THIS IS NOT THAT!!!!
How do people come to the conclusion that Coco cheated? I've watched a ton of tennis over the years and Coco is renowned for her integrity and fair play. The ad boards were flashing, so Coco (as did Sun) had every right to complain.
