So, help me understand this: they want children, but they don't want wifes to look pregnant. What a cruelty! 🤔. . . Mysogyny is so rampant. Unfortunately it still is.

William is a Milquetoast. Shame on him, and shame on the women criticizing her weight. Interesting premise. Lovely conclusion.

It's amazing to me that pregnancy would be considered repulsive when a barren woman was condemned and ostrazied. That is not love, when only her physical beauty was wanted by him. What a stuck up cad. He would never see me again if at all possible to get away. She probably believed he divorced her. After all, he didn't get a heir and knew she would never be that beautiful body, which was all he wanted.

Beautiful, sad story. The foolish, shallow Duke almost cost himself the most important treasure of his life. It ended beautifully. Listening from IDAHO...USA. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Beautiful story thank you

IRL I've seen this happen. Many men would benefit from watching this, but I can't see them doing it. I love a repentant heart & a happy ending. ♥♥

Vale refletir sobre aparência e essência. Narração emocionante. RJ

But wait; you kicked her out, but expected her to believe you cared enough for her and the baby?

The Duke had so much pride that he felt good about denigrating his pregnant wife in front of a roomful of people!

This is doesn’t happen during those times. When the nobility is showing due to pregnancy, the ladies do not go out of the public anymore. They stay at home.

Oh, so you want her back again? What happens if she gets pregnant again? Unfortunately, there wasn't such a thing as a vasectomy in those days

What a stupid (obviously lacking education) idiot. What did he expect? Like most titled families he'd want an heir and a spare. His attitude toward his wife's pregnancy is proof positive of why God assigned the conception and rearing of children to women. Did he still believe the Stork delivered babies?

A bit too wordy in parts, which means the writer ran out of time and the ending was abrupt.

The people at the back are characters of the 1995 BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and that is their house, Longbourn. This is not authorized use.
