The Poolrooms - Lost in the Sunken Purgatory

VAPORAMA VISION

5,395,074 views

You don’t remember how long you’ve been here.

The surface fades away. Endless water stretches in every direction, devouring everything it touches.

You drift without direction. The further you go, the deeper it becomes.

We have nothing for you but eternity. No bottom, no escape, only the weight of a constant threat and an illusory calm. This isn’t a place to swim. It’s a place to be swallowed.

Stay still. Don’t struggle. We are the abyss, and we already have you.

What would you do if you suddenly heard that distant music in an ordinary moment of your life?

Just the fact the pool is deep scares the hell outta me

I find environments like these are where the backrooms are at their most creepy for me, when they're teetering on the edge of "believable" vs "nonsense" architecture and design. This place makes no logical sense. So why does it feel so designed? You feel like the answer is just about to come to you, and yet it never does.

Very cool that you don't use jump scares but just the architecture and music to build up an atmosphere of dread.

The fall off the ladder is terrifying imo

Man has the stamina of an Olympian. I wouldnt have been able to get past the first ladder. Let alone that huge one. And trusting that bridge? Never ever ever

I like how this video doesn't overdo the presence of the entities. It's just enough to evoke the fear of thalassophobia and I respect that. I have watched some of your other videos where the number of entities is too much and I can't enjoy the calmness of those back rooms.

What a nightmare! Far worse than being hunted by creatures is being lost completely alone in this sterile, endless world. If you wander around there alone long enough, you'll probably come to a point where you wish you were being hunted by monsters. Just so you're not alone.
Great video!!!👍👍👍

In this video, every time this protagonist cameraman looks down at the endless dark of water, I get myself a goosebump.

This captures the feeling of an uncomfortable dream so well. That unbearable feeling of desperately wanting to go to a certain place, but never being able to reach it, no matter how hard you try.

you KNOW this place smells like stale chlorine

I like that there’s no explanation for anything here. Just this bizarre architecture that both appears to be, but also cannot be human in origin. The toys just randomly around, like the soccer ball on the pink structure in the middle of the ocean. The enormous serpent creature that only appears once for a few seconds.

Not to mention the message at the end, which basically implies there’s something intelligent in charge of/using the backrooms to permanently trap people. Who? No idea. Why? We don’t know.

And that’s what’s truly makes this truly scary: the unknown. So much happens, and we understand none of it.

Incredible work, man. Including how that water moves and sounds. Beautiful

Climbing, swimming, stairs, camera holder is completely jacked.

Bro, this was intense! My thalassophobia kicked in bad in this one. Especially when he fell down into the water, right after seeing this monstrous water snake. I couldn't watch my screen. Really nice job!

That creature's coloring is genius. If it were all black, you wouldn't be able to see it in the water (unless it was really close). All white and you'd be able to see it easily and take solace in the fact that you can at least know where it is. Black and white takes advantage of both the deepness of the water and the reflections from the light, so unless it's close, you might question whether you actually saw something, or if it was just the light bouncing off of the water. Genius.

The Janitor keeps this place spotless.

Does anyone else find this calming and unnerving at the same time?

@Camilla550 1 year ago

What creeps me out in the beginning is the water moving the way it is because it indicates there’s something swimming in there disturbing it and causing the waves.

Submechnophobia, thalassophobia, megalophobia, claustrophobia, acrophobia, Liminal backrooms all in one.

@amberalexandrabayleycooke212 11 months ago

The most scary thing, for me is that there aren't any protections to avoid you from falling down! On the white "balconies" and the stairs of that weird pink place in the middle of the sea. You can't climb safely... it's so dangerous! 😱
The landscape, it's amazing, btw... Awesome video! ✨🪜
