Piranha plant is actually the smartest enemy since it doesn't come out when Mario is nearby. Smart move piranha plant

5:20 Actually they're based on "Jiangshi", a creature from Chinese folklore that hops with its feet stuck together and sucks the life force from others. It's also sometimes called "Chinese hopping vampire".🤔

You gotta admire that, no matter how long he keeps this series going, Copycat still manages to think of interesting "every Mario game" ideas.

I'd argue another smart Mario Wonder enemy is the Maw Maw, only attempting to attack when Mario & Co is near, rather than mindlessly wandering to their demise like so many Koopa and goombas.

Ngl I love getting to the part where you say “Nintendo would return to its 2d roots with NSMB” always satisfying

What about the block enemy in SMB3? It disguises itself as a block and jumps around. Also, the karate kids? They aggressively chase you around and steal baby Mario.

those lakitus will forever annoy me especially in mario maker when they're spammed all over the place

If there were a "most unhelpful secrets in every Mario game" then I recommend the pipes that go underwater in 5-2 and 6-2 because Bloopers.

9:53 It's worth pointing out that losing your hat in SM64 makes you more vulnerable to damage, taking twice of your health bars per hit. And you can't just leave the world to get it back, you have to return to the level and defeat the klepto or the monkey to retrieve it.

I am the smartest Mario enemy.

10:29 They used the capture mechanic many years before Odyssey, because the Stu who takes Mario's hat also grows a mustache like his.😮

Fun fact: Lakitu's behavior in SMB1 is actually bugged. He is meant to not drop spinys straight down but throw them  across the screen. The bug was fixed when The Lost levels came out.

I just want to go on the record and state that the dumbest enemy in Super Mario 3D World is Meowser. Dude literally sat on top of a giant POW block.

I see you’ve been working on different ways to introduce each game - the added variety is great :)

Bro NEVER runs out of Ideas 😭🙏

In Super Mario World, I'm SHOCKED the Laikitu with the Ghost Fire on his line that chases in the Ghost House was not on the list. That thing is a royal pain to avoid!

I named my Cat Copycat after a Roleplay character of mine. Later down the timeline, my recommendations shows me this channel. Well for obvious reasons, it was an eye opener. My husband, who was focused on his game heard you say "My name is Copycat" and it IMMEDIATELY perked his attention.

Pyon-Pi is based directly on a Chinese undead monster called the Jiang-Shi. A Jiang-Shi is like a mix of a shambling zombie and a vampire, hopping around because its limbs are still frozen in rigor mortis and stealing your life energy if it grabs you.

The reason it can be killed with the Super Ball but merely stunned (despite being visibly CRUSHED) by a jump is because you need magic to kill a magic monster like that.

2:00 "Homicidal"??? What???? Extra lives?
Anyway this is a really cool video! I will note that Phantos stop moving if you just set down the key, which shows they don't have good memory, and chasing enemies like Flurries, Broozers, and Cataquacks don't seem too smart because they don't try to juke you or dodge attacks, and Boss Bass, Angry Sun, Dragon-eel, and Tracks are just kinda doing their own thing. Also, I'd like to shout out Flame Chomp, which fits your criteria!

14:22 3D land is my favourite switch game
