Feels like she was ahead of her time. A combination of having a beautiful, distinct, angelic yet powerful voice and stunning beauty. Also intelligent, humble and beautiful on the inside as well. So unfair that her gift is taken away from her.
She performed at Summerfest in Milwaukee around 1985, and we grabbed seats early a few rows from the stage. Early in her performance, I stepped up to the front of the stage to take a few close pics with my large 35mm camera setup. As I was clicking a few off, I noticed through the viewfinder, it appeared she was looking in my direction. When I had the film developed, sure enough she was so incredible while she was singing (the Nelson Riddle period) to glance (and smile) directly at me - there were no other cameras near me. Thanks Linda for that, and so much more...
Linda Ronstadt can perform any style of music…pop, rock, soul, country, new wave, standards, jazz, big band and even ethnic. She rarely did television variety shows or gave interviews, probably because she was constantly touring. Her voice should never be silenced!
I'm 83 and have been around since the beginning of Rock& Roll, Rock a Billy, Country, loved music all my life. no talent myself Oh played drums for while in a trio but nothing to brag about. But loved Linda's voice and range. from the git go!. I still can't believe she has had to retire because of her illness. I for one miss her. wish her the best. God speed. ECF
