In high school I took Bookkeeping. In the Army I learned how to handle fiscal budgets. After the Army I took accounting. I think I'm still capable of handling large amounts of funds. In 2018 I was medically retired and put on disabled which is less than half of what I was making working and I immediately went into "budget mode."
I also have a childhood friend and a cousin who are lawyers. While in tech school after active duty I had to take a Business Law class and it turned out I knew more about law than I thought I did and with today's electronics one can find out basically anything they want including the laws of any state.
1. Get a lottery lawyer 2. Get another lottery lawyer. 3. How much are your fees? 4. Dont move quickly 5. Dont sign over signatory authority to your attorney 6. LLC is not a fast 2-4 process 7. Irrevocable trust DANGER 8. If YOU fire THE LAWYER what happens? 9. Lawyer makes you feel stupid RUN 10. GET THREE LAWYERS (LOL)
I'm glad I live in Australia I don't need a criminal lawyer to manage my assets or claim my win I'm very capable of handling my finances and assets myself. Never ever tell anyone you won the lottery this will be the biggest mistake of your life
Why do you need a lawyer to claim any lottery prize. Get an EIN from the IRS and establish a revocable trust. Put everything you own into the trust including the lottery prize. You control everything. Nobody can touch you. You no longer own the lottery prize, the Trust does but you control the Trust.
