Like it, made that cheapo strat copy look desirable and " that" deserves a medal🏅

Initially I thought you may have gone the wrong way with the chisels and gouging but I think it came up really well, I chose to comment because of what you said about the relic fake book site, there are so many keyboard warriors these days who comment on everything and I doubt most of them have even tried to actually do anything other than make comments and troll people who have a go and take a chance sharing their projects.
Thank you for sharing your process and thoughts about what you have done, I think, along with many others that it looks great.

Cool 🤘

A lot of people talk shit on the internet, and they're the people that have never took a swift dig to the face! I think it looks the absolute business! One of the best diy poly relic finishes I've seen! Really big fan of how it turned out! Cudos to you!

pretty neat

You achieved an amazing result for a poly finished guitar...!! looks awesome, of course the borders of a poly finish are difficult to scrap them to look nitro. Great job Matt.

its obviously no nitro finish but u did what u could with a poly and poly is so hard and thick but u did well for it all things considered

with poly, a heat gun works wonders just be careful of the fumes

Hey Matt, I think that you made a good effort with this one, especially if this is your first one... Relic guitars are liked by some and hated by others. I have taken the position that they can be made into a piece of art if done a certain way... I have a couple on my channel that I re-imagined and I must say that I had a lot of fun with the experimentation process... Plus they turned out to be really great playing instruments too... Thanks for sharing this one!

the guitar looks truly stylish, very organic, and has a distinctive, natural, aged look. The result is stunning. I was especially amused by the comments about how you usually paint them, but here you need to approach it from the opposite angle. This is great work, thanks for the video!

Look at some Custom Shop relics and copy those.

You also want to very carefully take a box cutter and pry up the edges of the paint.
It works quickly and without all the dust from sanding.
I like to hit the guitar with random stuff to make more dents, dings, scratches, and scuffs. Screwdrivers 🪛, chains ⛓️, etc.
Don't forget to put some wear and tear on the headstock too. 👍🎶

Honestly im a fan of anytime poly is removed from a guitar. Id prefer if it was repainted with nitro and aged on its own, but this works too lmao. Poly just doesnt look good when it breaks naturally

Great work. I started a relic on my Crafter Cruiser Strat (really good budget strats. Highly recommended) Needs a little more work though. Yours has definitely inspired me to carry on with it. Enjoyed the video so subscribed 🙂

Not bad at all. I’d remove more of the yellow on the arm contour and taper on the top wider towards  the arm contour

The problem with almost all 'relics' guitars is that that they look.....reliced. Less is more when it comes to a relic guitar, IMO.

Why do they play blues?

Ok! Not a fan of relics… I do own some guitars…Mosrites, that are naturally reliced (sp) and I love them for the natural aging. I have nothing against relicing, I thought of making A SRV copy, just haven’t gotten around to it. My only criticism would be the wear going under the pickguard… how would that happen? Seems like the wear should stop somewhere just before the pickguard edge. Does that make sense?

Oof

Looks like it got dragged behind a truck for miles and miles. Way WAY overdone.
