Jack The Ripper Tour

In this video you will be taken on a tour through the story of the Jack the Ripper crimes, as you visit the sites of the murders, and view other locations that are connected with the world’s greatest and most baffling true crime mystery.

You will see the places connected with the story as they are in 2026, but will also see them as they were in 1888, using photographs and illustrations that show them in the aftermath of each one of the atrocities.

The two videos for which I promised a link to are:

George Chapman

The Life And Crimes Of George Chapman - "J...

and The From Hell Letter

George Lusk And The Letter From Hell.

It’s a pity so many buildings were torn down.

The best Jack the ripper site online , Richard Jones tells these stories with accuracy and a lacing of humour which is respectful for such a dark subject, thanks Richard for these fascinating stories, keep them coming 👍

I was in Spitalfields just two weeks ago, retracing three streets where my ancestors lived during the mid 1800s. It is such an amazing area the one thing about change that really gripes me is the amount of graffiti everywhere, especially around Brick Lane, these buildings are beautiful and should be preserved, i understand modernisation happens but surely vandalism can be deterred. It doesnt happen anywhere else in London apart from the East End

That was an excellent video though, having stood alone in 'that' corner of Mitre Square on a wet, rainy night in October 1980 when it looked very different to nowadays, I'm rather sad that today's Ripper enthusiast can't do the same (hope that doesn't sound too morbid!).

Your best video in many months Richard... 🔪🎩

If more of the original buildings in Whitechapel had survived, they would now be very trendy and very expensive

From some tale tell signs in the video, it certainly appears that London is losing its cultural and historical heritage. I certainly hope it may be reclaimed and preserved before rendered entirely vanquished. I toured all the murder sites in 2000 with Donald Rumbelow on one of his tours, and they all looked closer to their 1888 iterations than what I see from your video in 2026...especially Mitre Square and former Dorset Street. Glad I saw them when I did...

Excellent as always Richard 👏. I was there last week on Commercial Street and Old Castle Street - it's changed a lot since the late 1970s when I first lived in London.

Thank you so much for doing this. It is fascinating! I used to visit London quite frequently and stayed near the Mitre Square site before the latest construction destroyed it. Although it had changed quite a bit even before the construction, it still had the feel of how it had been at the time of the murders, and it was easy to visualize how it looked back then. Sadly, it has now gone the way of all the other sites in the name of “progress.”

I appreciate that the names of the women who the ripper attacked were shown onscreen. Their names are well known of course but showing them starkly on a black screen drives it home that these were real women just trying to survive and ran into the wrong person.

I used to drink in the White Hart on the corner of Gunthorpe Street. I remember that they had a piece on the wall at the back of the pub inside about Martha Tabrum.

140 years later we are very lucky to have any buildings still standing. Or even the streets ..

I was near Spitalfields recently and the area is buzzing, especially along Brick Lane. There is a real mix of old and new and a lot of youthful energy.
