Thread cutting on the lathe. I know, I know, but had a few requests, thought I'd oblige. This is pretty general -- to help keep it clear and hopefully easy to understand/follow. Who knows, maybe it helps a few kids out.

You’re cutting a metric thread on (what I assume to be) an imperial lathe with an imperial lead screw. Does the imperial dial indicator still work the same with the metric thread?

how sure are we about the 29,5º stuff? aren't we just cutting every time only a bit more? we are plunging in the same way just that when you increase the depth now you are not doing it perpendicularly but at an angle... but this you dont do while cutting... only when adjusting... so idk if i am missing something 😂

Hey I’m 39 years old and this is helping me at my new career. I just got done practicing on 3/4 cold rolled so I did 3/4 10 then flipped the stock and messed up 1/2 20. But this is a god send of a video

For that puzzle, if you use left-hand threads for the internal part, then if some smarty pants tries to unscrew it from opposite ends based on intuition, they will most likely just tighten it more 👍
