Atleast the backseat is equally small.

Honestly? The ICE proportions just look better to me. Its a minute difference but still long hoods and I guess steeper windshields just look better…

b sport please make a video on On-Board Monitoring for euro7, its actually insane they approved the car shutting down or stop working if you dont fix the emissions

Can you do a video on Euro 7 and how it will affect Manufacturers and Tuners? I would love to hear your opinion on it.

Ich warte auf den i3 Touring. Leider nervt mich das komische Cockpit.

Very interesting. The new ICE version looks more traditionally BMW, but it also has more awkward proportions. The EV is more taught, more purposeful, more substantial, more notable even. It's a (finally) great design move for BMW.

I know the previous generations also weren't small cars, but wow they look GIGANTIC. If you didn't tell me this was a 3 series I would have guessed this is the 5 series.
And I know it reduces drag, but the bonnet/hood is angled up so much, it reaches up to the middle of the side mirror now. Must feel like sitting in a bath tub from the driver POV.

The wheels on the EV should be much smaller for efficiency's sake

I really want BMW to contemplate a 340 model. No M stuff, just a detuned to 375hp B58 with luxury interior and clean exterior. The B58 is so damn efficient that a model between 330 and M350 makes a lot of sense, especially with the demise of the inline 6 diesel.

There is currently some very nice footage of a driving 320 sedan on the Youtube channel of the Wheel Network. Makes it a bit easier to judge both the proportions and the detailing of the car.
As a 3-series driver since the E91, I quite like the design. Especially of the ICE version with the classic proportions. The two things that I find hard to digest are the absence of a strong longitudinal line across the side of the car. And the steep and high incline of the bonnet right at the front. Probably for pedestrian safety.
I appreciate the efforts BMW takes to make a bold step forward. But frankly... I would like to have it with the E34 dash.

thanks for making this very informative vid about all the differences that are invisible to most eyes, mine included! as a taller person, i wonder if i will find equally pleasing seating positions.

Great analysis, thank you.

i3 is definitely a more pure design. New 3 is a G20 with the i3 design language draped on top. Doesn’t look quite right at the rear 3/4

@carguy7627 2 days ago

It's hard to believe that this is the same BMW as the late 90s early 2000s visually. If this new 3 series had been a Geely or Hyundai I wouldn't be surprised.

@moonsing-n5b 2 days ago

Very interesting analysis!!! I've never seen the car like this!

It feels like the car and the parts contracting was designed for 7-10 years ago when flush door handles and giant screens were trendy and not recognized for the hazards that they are. Was hoping the Neue Klasse would be some sort of penance for the rest of Dukec’s sins.
