This is both sad and humorous. He directed exactly how he wanted it to be done. There is a video of the making of it. I love his voice in this, still wonderful. Thank you for doing so many Queen videos. I love them all. He was getting some hallucinations from some of his meds and this was written about it.
You noticed how good looking John Deacon is. Sweet John hasn't aged well, but you can still see the man he once was. He is also a great bass player. He never gets much screen time on the videos, sad. He is my favorite Queen member. Of course, I love all of them.
I love this song and video, they show, that Freddie could still be funny, silly and happy, despite his condition. He wore extra clothes underneath the costume to hide how thin he really was.
Jim Hutton wrote about how Freddie wrote the song, together with his long time friend Peter Straker: ""Freddie set about with Peter trying to come up with a succession of goofy lyrics, each funnier than the last. He screamed when they came up with things like 'I'm knitting with only one needle' and 'I'm driving on only three wheels these days'. But the master-stroke was: 'I think I'm a banana tree'. Once that came out there was no stopping Freddie and Straker – they were then in full flow. I went to bed to fall asleep listening to their laughter wafting upstairs."
The making of for the video is also really charming and funny. It has been made in February 1991.
Love it! Yeah, they were definitely a family in the best way. FYI Penguins are among Brian's favorite animals alongside badgers, hedgehogs and foxes. Though he adores animals and is a passionate animal rights/protection activist in general. There are a lot of pictures of him wearing a penguin pin on his lapel.
i heard in a documentary while they were making the video for "these are the days of our lives" he legs and feet were so sore..and his feet were worse.. he had giant cuts and hole in his feet. if you look at his shoes in the making of that video they are like a padded show and his feet are wrapped.
I love hearing Freddie sing in his beautiful natural baritone voice! This video is such fun. I read that Freddie was very concerned for the well being of the penguins during the filming, and kept checking to see to their needs, to be sure they had enough water. What a kind human being he was.
You should check out the making of the video. They were all having great fun. The penguin had a shit on the couch and Freddie blamed Roger lol. Was good to see them still having fun.
It is a fun video, I love it. Freddie was involved alot in the directing of it. Apparently the lyrics is about his reaction to the medication he was taking. He was hallucinating etc. Could have been because of the actual disease too.
This is soooo sad, but funny too! Very good video, but Freddie was very sick, this was in february -91, he died in november -91. So you can think, he was so thin, the lady who helledussen him with his clouth said in an interview, I nearly had all the clouth he had on him, he was only skin and boones. And its been told that when he sat on his knees beeside the sofa, that was sooo hard for him, you must see the video where thei made it. And read about it.......very interesting.......I really love youre Queen-channel Sassy! Wonderful 🥰
Sharon has it, these is sad, well, beyond......, he was so close......No. Its not a funny song, he is losing....... He died few months later......,well...
