We are from the Pokot Tribe, a sub group of the Kalenjin people in Kenya. We are pastoralists, and our way of life revolves around keeping livestock. We often move from one place to another in search of fresh pasture and water for our animals.
Our family lives in beautiful traditional huts built in the same style our ancestors used for generations. However, we are now beginning a new chapter by building our first ever modern home. Since we were born, none of us has ever lived or slept in a modern house, so this is a dream come true and a very special journey for our family.

Although we own many acres of land, the roads are poor and often cut off by flooded seasonal rivers. That’s why we recently bought land near the main road, where there are no seasonal rivers to cross. It will make transportation much easier and safer for our family, our livestock, and anyone visiting us.
