Today we're drinking other people's mead!
Three Ravens Head Meadery and Brew Brothers in Battle Creek, Michigan sent us several of their meads to try, so we're starting with three of the lighter offerings.
First up is Viking Nectar, a 14% traditional mead that's beautifully clear, honey-forward, surprisingly bold, and nicely balanced between sweetness, acidity and tannin.
Next comes Aphrodite's Tears, a sweet strawberry mead complete with a magical shimmer. We get fresh and cooked strawberry notes, honey, and what might even be a touch of vanilla.
Finally, we try Bridg's Enchantment, a blackberry mead with plenty of berry on the aroma but considerably more honey coming through on the palate.
And yes... this one sparkles too.

What makes Three Ravens Head especially fun is the presentation. Each mead has its own character, location and story, turning the entire lineup into something of a fantasy tasting adventure.
But cool labels only get you so far.
How does the mead actually taste?
Spoiler: we were impressed.

I do not know if it's dry or sweet, but drinking this mead is a honey-filled treat!
It buzzes and fizzes and swirls in the cup,
A golden old drink that I sip right on up!
Made by the bees with a blossom or two,
A fermenting concoction that's tasty and new!
So fill up my goblet and give it a pour,
I'll drink down a cup and then ask for some more!
