Tesla Cybercab vs Model Y Robotaxi vs Waymo vs Uber! My daughter London just got her driver's license, so we went to Austin to find out which ride we'd actually choose.

We take our first Cybercab ride on Austin streets, compare it with Tesla's Model Y Robotaxi, try Waymo, and hop in a human-driven Uber. From a car with no steering wheel to unexpected drop-offs, seat comfort and passenger visibility, this is our honest father-daughter experience.

Quite a bit of misinformation about the LiDAR and vision only as well as saying a Waymo costs upwards of $300k. 😂

You did correct the cupholder part. 😊

My only critique is that when you said Waymo uses LiDAR because cameras are limited in the dark and rain. I’m sure others have already pointed it out, but that’s not true. While cameras do have limits, LiDAR is even more limited in rain and fog simply because of how it works. The beams of light bounce off the rain drops and water droplets in fog and create noise, whereas cameras can see through it to some extent. My experience with FSD is that it works well even in moderate to heavy rain. This is further evident by the fact that Waymo pauses service during heavy rain while Robotaxi keeps going. The real reason for LiDAR is simply because it’s a different approach to solving the same problem. Waymo sees it as a necessary redundancy and safety measure. I, and many others, think it’s unnecessary and that Robotaxi is proving that to be true.

The whole argument about looking at back window is like finding fault for sake of finding. What are u gonna do even when u could see through windows. Its self driving

You are got it wrong. You got that in reverse. In the heavy rain and fog, Waymo will suffer because of the Lidar and radar, Tesla Robotaxi drives in heavy rain. Look it up recently, cybercab and Model Y drives in heavy rain and Waymo paused the service while Tesla Robotaxi continued.
