I have to say, as someone who doesn't know John, his need to win was pretty transparent and very entertaining.

I agree with Elis 100%! John said he regrets not being more entertaining on Taskmaster but for me him being so straight down the line competitive & competent while trying to hide it, while exuding this "IF you want entertainment GO AND WATCH CLOWNS!" energy... that legit is the most entertaining thing John could have done 😁😁

ooh, a past-winners competition with Robins V Gamble! (hahaha) "Let the blood flow!" 😄

As a long lasting fan of Taskmaster I always enjoy contestants that are eager to win then entertain (for entertainment sake). It was obvious from the start that John is also a big fan of TM and that winning it means a lot to him and that's why he became my favorite.

I really feel that 'win win win, be nice, win win win' voice. It's horrible.

Elis did do a disservice to Sophie there. She wasn’t clueless, she was given an impossible question.

John is so handsome.

I have to say as an American, discovering these eclectic, mostly intelligent brilliant performers for the first time through taskmaster has been such a great find.. I was raised on British humor, with a steady adolescent diet of Monty Python, Dr Who Benny Hill, the Goodies , Beatles cartoons in the am. I had forgotten just how much better it is

I think it came across that John wanted to win, but by being honest and upfront about feeling like that he comes across far more positively and relatable.
