Also, whether or not it breaks & break distance are subjective to print requirements. Flexibility over breaking is generally better, but I would like to know more about deflection & plasticity. How far does each bend under equal load? At what load/distance does the material not return to its original form? The formlabs bends to a greater distance before breaking, but how rigid is it when that is a requirement?
Looking forward to more tests like this.
Would love to see some testing comparisons to existing tough and/or ABS-like resins, like for example the Phrozen RPG resin, since robustness and longevity is (IMO) vastly more important for game pieces, than precision and visual quality
Additionally, I'd like to see how the Izod impact test relates to toughness in resins. I'd think it would be more pertinent in some ways, as dropping prints onto a hard surface seems more like the Izod impact test - and dropping prints is easily the thing that seems to shatter prints the most easily in my experience.
Is there some forum where people compare notes on this sort of thing ? As if there isn't enough choice already ..
