New GOAL achieved.... After almost 1,100 km of travel, I arrived in the interior of the Chaco Province to visit and marvel at the green and enormous CHACO NATIONAL PARK, which I was able to explore through more than 33 strenuous kilometers of trekking in a single day, including the journey from my accommodation to the park and all the trails I hiked within it!!!
This National Park, established on October 22, 1954, is a protected natural area located in the heart of the Humid Chaco.
Its objective is the conservation of the environment of the eastern Chaco region, characterized by its lagoons and jungle vegetation, interspersed with palm groves and wetlands. These environments develop around the course of the Río Negro, which crosses the eastern part of the park. It's very important to know that this area protects and conserves forests of Quebracho Colorado, a tree that was indiscriminately logged and decimated to the point of endangerment since the late 19th century. Thanks to the creation of this protected area, today we can explore a vast forest dominated by this precious and characteristic species of the region, while also spotting a great diversity of wildlife from the Chaco region. I must highlight the kindness and helpfulness of the park rangers (Leonicio and Oscar, for example) who advised and assisted me at all times... they even offered to drive me back in their truck to the small town of Capitán Solari where I had been staying... A BEAUTIFUL and UNFORGETTABLE experience... A new CHAPTER in my TRAVEL BOOK exploring our endless ARGENTINA!!!
