Hi everyone. I got the price wrong on the Aldi burgers. They are £3.59 my mistake 😊 have a good weekend.

The difference is: The ALDI is measured AFTER cooking (see 'grillled' under TYPICAL VALUES) - so the burger loses water content and fats etc, shrinking from 114g weight to just 75g weight - This way of calculating 'values' makes it harder to compare 'like for like'. The CODE: GB HN 012 identifies "ABP Wessex Foods", located at Leeming Bar Industrial Estate, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, England. So BOTH M&S and ALDI are having thier burgers made in the same factory and the way of 'measuring' the 'typical values' have been done differently to make it harder to compare the similar burgers...!

Nutrition info is raw on one, cooked on the other. Protein will stay the same, fat will be different.

I have a confession. Once a friend and I forgot to change the oil out between cooking ordinary beef burger and a vegetarian alternative. Spent the night being asked where we got the vegetarian burgers as they were so good. Luckily no one was choosing the vegetarian burgers for a medical reason so no harm done.

Marks and Spencers have done a great job. Proper burgers with real ingredients so worth the money. £1.25 each for a good burger is good. But Aldi do do some good stuff. Excellent video Gareth.

I make my own and jazz them up to my taste......some finely chopped onion, good dash of worcester sauce, salt and pepper, and a small handful of breadcrumbs.
Sometines add a pinch of chilli powder to give them a bit of a zing!

The Lidl Aberdeen Angus quarter pounders at £ 3.39 are really good - just unadulterated beef.

the comparison videos is what made me fall in love with your channel, bro. Do more of them if ya can :D

These are surely made in the same factory. Worked with an engineer years ago who worked in a factory that packed mince/beef/chicken on a production line. He said that they would load, let's just say Tesco labels on the line for whatever meat they were packing, punch in the prices for the label and then run it. A buzzer then would ring and the line would stop. They would then remove the Tesco labels, replace it with Asda ones, punch in a new price point, and then run the line again with exactly the same meat the Tesco ones had packed.

Glad you’ve taken my suggestion to compare the M&S ones and see what you think……

Awesome review Gareth, always love the comparisons. Have a great weekend, all the best. 😊

nice to know there are no sulphites in either

Just paid £3.59 for those Aldi burgers👍🏼😎

Another enjoyable review, Gareth, thanks. Unfortunately, being diabetic there are SO MANY delicious foods that are ‘not advised’, these being one of them! Looking forward to your next one already!

"What you doing Barry?" Who remembers the days when Birds Eye's Beef Burgers with Chips and Beans felt special for your tea?  The posters stated "with a least 80% Beef!" The damn things became tiny once cooked and tasted of onion. I've just has a look at Birds Eye and the beef is now 72% and still packed with onion. They are not cheap neither.

Trigger "I don't know what you're worried about. I've been eating British beef all my life"
Del Boy "egg and chips please Mike"

Same factory different branding 😉👍

Great comparison, thanks for the review G 👍

I'm from Merseyside and we say 'Gob On' rather than 'Cob on' means the same but interesting regional difference.

A tip for using the scale.... before you weigh....place a cup then the empty plate onto the scale, then zero it. This makes seeing the weight easy, as the cup lifts the plate clear of the numbers.
