Luxury school bus conversion, start to finish: 2 years turning a forgotten 40ft skoolie into a luxury tiny home on wheels. An 18-inch roof raise, full welding and rust repair, off-grid solar with lithium batteries, PEX plumbing, and a triple-bunk custom interior — the complete bus-to-home transformation.

Technical Project Blueprint:
Demolition & Rust Mitigation: Stripping all original panels and seats down to the bare chassis, grinding down heavy surface corrosion, and welding fresh sheet steel over vacant floor holes.

Structural Frame & Roof Raise: Severing the window pillars and using mechanical screw jacks to lift the roof 18 inches before welding custom steel sleeve inserts to secure the new profile.

Subfloor & Thermal Envelope: Laying a rigid wood floor grid to house friction-locked foam boards, mounting wall purlins, and packing the cavities with fiberglass insulation to maximize climate control.

Off-Grid Utilities & Plumbing: Bolting down a high-efficiency solar array wired to a lithium battery bank and running a food-grade PEX plumbing network complete with an on-demand pump.

Interior Finish & Custom Millwork: Building a space-saving triple bunk layout, installing a premium kitchen galley with secure appliance housings, and laying durable, waterproof luxury vinyl plank flooring.
