Upon arriving in Valdivia, we explored the Costanera (coastal promenade) and took a catamaran tour along the rivers that crisscross the city. Soon after, we visited the Mercado Fluvial (River Market), where sea lions steal the show while vendors offer fresh produce and typical dishes.

We then went to the Foucault Pendulum, a scientific installation that demonstrates the Earth's rotation and moves continuously thanks to the planet's own movement.

Since Valdivia is also known as the beer capital of Chile, we went to the Kunstmann brewery, a national landmark, to learn more about the region's brewing tradition.

The following day, we drove to Niebla to see the forts that marked the colonial history of this area. We visited the Fuerte de Niebla, part of the defensive system created by the Spanish after the attempted Dutch occupation in the 17th century.

Afterwards, we followed the coast to Curiñanco Beach, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the region, with open sea, cliffs, and preserved areas. We conclude our time in Valdivia with a special thank you for the accommodation — here's the link for anyone who wants to see the cabin where we stayed: https://www.airbnb.com.br/rooms/12409...
