Dan Olson can't comprehend that James' student films he's nostalgic for are just as important to him as AVGN stuff. Crazy concept.

At some point in the video, I was half-expecting this dude to come to the conclusion that maybe he can learn to love himself and that his life was worth living. With the whole room cracking away into an endless expanse of blue sky, and all his friends and family materializing around him to congratulate him.

All of these video essayists make me think of Garth Marenghi. The delusions of grandeur, the verbal diarrhoea, the absence of self-awareness, the need to over-analyse everything around them and express themselves without having anything to actually say...

James calming down to me is a combination of playing games that didn't piss him off when he was a kid so he doesn't have that root anger and him becoming a dad

i felt like the whole thing was a really complicated and roundabout way to say "wait, I'm not any better"

Its the video equivalent of trying to write enough words for a high school essay.

Who up strokin they crass homonculus of photons rn

27:32 Jesus Christ, there are few things more unbecoming of a man than this kind of hyperbolic, over spoken, limp wristed diatribe beginning with “This thing ruined my life.”

Listening to an old man whine about microphones and entropy, what a time to be alive frens

As much as I do like a lot of Dan Olsen’s videos (especially ones on filmmaking techniques, they’re actually quite informative), this one is really just the biggest indicator of how a lot of these Breadtubers just desperately want to be film directors but can only make money from YouTube

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!!

Dan Olson reminds me of Oxhorn around the time he stopped trying.

It's 5am, I'm drunk, got me shades on and life is blunt tastic. Hitting the play button today boyz!

I just love leftist video essays dooood they're NEVER too pretentious in any way :D

It’s really not that hard to understand James. He wanted to be a film maker. He and his friend made some funny videos on this new YouTube site, it got big and James hoped this might help him become a film maker. But when his movie came and went he was at a point where I think he felt it was more important to focus on his family and just truck along.
It’s sad because I’ve seen other YouTubers try to branch out but I admire James for not being terminally online spouting politics or getting into discord drama.

I can't stand the way breadtubers speak.  "A veritable forest of aluminum and steel", what's veritable about this statement?  Is he saying he has a real, physical forest in his room?  Because that's what he said.  Fake intelligence is cringe.

The Bad Media Criticism guy literally divides reviews into conservative and liberal, and then says the conservative ones are all bad, the liberals are all good.
But for some reason this isn’t political…?

AVGN is known to be in character, make sudden movements. Jump, yell, have multiple people in the shot (Keep in mind a literal basement, most likely with thin panel walls that looks like something you'd see at your grandma's house)

I feel like the whole point of the wood + screws. Is so that the camera doesn't get bumped, shook, or shaken during filming.
Something a film / camera buff should know about anyways.

Should he of bought a super huge yet expensive hydraulic camera stand? Most of which well let's face it wasn't going to be sturdy.  TBH you can get wood and screws for next to nothing. So I mean if it didn't work it wouldn't of been a total loss. My guess is AVGN wanted a sturdy mount system that can be rested anywhere for various shots.

I can see this setup being used on like a old coffee table while he did his intros back in the day.
