What will you look like when you're 150 years old?
If humans learn to dramatically extend lifespan, living to 150 may not mean looking 150. Depending on breakthroughs in anti-aging medicine, cellular reprogramming, organ regeneration and longevity science, you could look 120… 80… 50… or maybe even 30.
In this episode of Future Odds, we explore four possible versions of the human body at age 150 — and calculate the odds of each one becoming reality.
Could medicine simply keep us alive longer without stopping aging? Could replacement organs keep a 150-year-old body functional? Could senolytics and cellular rejuvenation slow biological aging? Or could partial cellular reprogramming eventually reset old tissues back toward youth?
We look at research involving:
• Cellular reprogramming and Yamanaka factors
• Senolytics and “zombie cells”
• Organ regeneration and xenotransplantation
• Biological age reversal
• Longevity escape velocity
• AI-powered drug discovery
• The potential link between rejuvenation and cancer risk
The real question may not be whether humans can live to 150.
It may be whether a 150-year-old human will still be biologically old.
