I Suffered Daggerfall With NO Mods!

Micky Plays!

For the first time in over more than half a decade, I'm playing DOSbox Daggerfall! It was a little painful. At least I didn't fall trhough the floor, much.

I only know three people breve enough to play the dosbox version on purpose after playing the unity version and they are all girls, that means something but idk what

Raw-dogging Daggerfall in the Year of Our Lord 2026 is diabolical

I hope this isn't a cry for help 😢

Happy to see more Daggerfall! I for one think your build is extremely optimal and meta.

It's actually funny how many people always freak out over unoptimized and heavens forbid, FUN builds.
I would imagine that these people crack open a wiki and some spreadsheets whenever they pick up a game. Having never discovered anything on their own and being total strangers to the concept of fun. But hey, at least it speaks to the broad appeal of games. Anyone can enjoy a game in so many ways.

Good points to dos Daggerfall: crunchy looking low res textures that feel nice on the eyeballs. Spam-casting spells at high speed. Getting nuked by enemies who can also spam-cast spells at the same speed. Some fun glitches like leaping off of angled surfaces really far and a few exploitable things. A few things working a little bit differently for taste.
Downsides: YES. Also BEWARE THE VOID.

This is outrageously cosy. I love Unity and all the QoL improvements, but there's something about DOSggerfall (dangerously close to doggerfall, let's not go there) which really scratches that nostalgia itch. I like the low draw distance, it reminds me of when I was 12 and didn't have a crushing sense of my own brief mortality

Thank you for playing Daggerfall back when you did Daggerfall without leaving Daggerfall. It got me to play it and introduced me to what is one of my favorite games now. I'm so happy to see you still playing it and making videos about it.

I remember putting in some decent hours into pure vanilla Daggerfall and did a few fighters build quests, it was surprisingly doable, helped me pass time in college tbh

Your videos are great comfort food. They're great for breakfast and background listening. Your voice is pleasant and I enjoy your musical references. Been a fan ever since I first found out about your main channel.

Best daggerfall unity advertisement. Loved watching some of the old 6h+ vods. Been seeing random michyD references online lately. The loyal community eating good having constant uploads. Miss the random modded videos. Can we walk to daggerfall with no graphics??

One shudders to imagine such a barbaric torture...

Your last daggerfall vid is your best video that you ever made. The part where you show off the real window mod and the guy gets closer made me laugh my piss out

Does anyone else want to see Micky make a Leisure Suit Larry video?

I legitimately downloaded daggerfall unity because of the "can you beat daggerfall without leaving daggerfall" video and one of my favorite mods is the convenient quest log the games so fun when you actually know where to go
