SF local- born and raised and still live here. Yes, SF is expensive, but it can be more affordable if you know where to go. You don't need to rent a car or use rideshare, we have a great public transportation system that will take you practically anywhere in the city. Some good cheap eats can be found outside of the touristy areas, like the Sunset or Richmond districts, though you can find hidden gems in every district. There are even more great places to eat and things to do if you're able to venture out to neighboring cities which you can access by Bart/SamTrans. Yes there are downsides like homelessness and drug use, but which major city doesn't have that? I think it's still a great city to visit at least once.

If you visit SF during the first week of the month a lot of museums are free
The admission to the cable car museum is your hearing
Porchetti and a bread bowl then the pinball places very good choices!!
Definitly living high on the hog,

I just came back from a family trip to San Francisco, visiting from London. The only thing I thought was outrageously expensive was parking. Overall we had an amazing time.

You should have driven down to Woodside and visited the historic FILOLI mansion and grounds as a day trip. It had been used in various movies and TV shows mostly notably the facades used in the television show “Dynasty” including their clock tower.

That Farrolito is 100%. One of the best things I ate in SF. It means “Lighthouse”.

I lived in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco from 1985-1990. I loved living and working there. You did a great job with this video. Made me miss The City. I have lived down the state in beautiful San Luis Obispo since 1990. But I left a bit of my heart in SF. Thanks for your video!

Great video Chris. San Francisco looks a bit cleaner than I remember as well, homeless et al. Grew up in the city, and it's way different and more expensive these days.

I rented a vrbo and stayed in the haight ashberry neighborhood. I remember it being pretty cheap too. Took a taxi once, didn't have a car. A couple nice restaurants. Paid a fraction of your trip and had a blast!
