I met with Mr. Anderson in Edmonton, Canada.  We had a wonderful conversation about Bagpipes, and why the sound fades out on the high notes.  I explained why and basically, in a humbly and tine way, taught the master.  I have pictures.  We also talked about that i had enjoyed "TulL" music for so many decades, that I had bought my favorite music over time, that I has bought Vinyl, Cassette Tape, 8-Track, CD, DVE. then MP3, he said " I think the MP3 is as far at it will go."  Long Life Ian.

I have been a huge Tull fan from the very beginning. I think this is the first time I've ever heard Ian  speak in a normal conversation.

John is the epitome of a great interviewer. He knows intuitively when to talk and when to listen.

Thank you, Sir, for allowing Mr Anderson to speak. It shows warm respect  So many interviewers, if not most, are obsessively caught up with the sound of their own voices. Thank you again.Peace.

Been a fan for life. Ian met me after a Bursting Out tour concert. My GF and I went behind the venue and stood by a black-windowed limo hoping to see the band leave the venue. We stood there talking a while until all of a sudden the black window rolled down. It was Ian and Martin inside! “Nice shirt” IA said. I was wearing a brown camouflage shirt like he wore in those days. I shook his hand and was thrilled. Later in the ’90’s he was very kind to me and I have a few more stories to tell fellow bug-eyed one-legged maniacal Jethrodite fanatics- someday.

THIS is the kind of interview I really warm to. The most inner feelings and personal perspectives are far more interesting that the usual interview fare. Thanks for allowing Ian to confabulate without interruption. I have personally experienced Ian's obligatory upward gaze awaiting his exit from an Orange County gig. He was reluctant to autograph a small throng waiting behind a short chain link. His wife convinced him to meet us all one at a time...and I remember...most appreciatively...after keeping eyes downward...that upward glance and responding to my praise of his art...signing my AQUALUNG MFSL with his customary autograph and a smile...the earth moved for a split second.

God bless Ian!
Great interview, thanks!

I can appreciate where IA is coming from. Thanks for all of the music over these years.

Loved Tull and Ian since 1970. Glued to any and all interviews .
But I’ll still say my evening prayers, just in case.

Thank you John, Ian is such a fascinating person! More please!

Ian has always been aware of the passing of time, so many songs about it. We Used to Know, Life's a Long Song, Wondering Aloud.

Ian sounds a lot like Johnny Carson.  Carson held America in the palm of his hand for decades, but he was very uncomfortable at parties, and avoided them.  One person on stage, another person off stage.

Enjoyed the interview and thank you for just allowing Ian to speak without constant interjection or your own views. Well done!

I could listen to John interviewing the very thoughtful Ian Anderson 24/7.

I agree with 95%of what Ian Anderson says and I'm glad that he recognises the importance of showing some sort of respect for people's admiration for him.

Great info. IanThe hardest workingman in rock 1968 thru 2000..toured with every album release non stop...saw from 1974 warchild msg nyc thru 1992 beacon theather broadway 74st nyc." Whole lotta tull...now? Im old

People remember you for how you make them feel.

Broad Sword.  In an early black and white film in the 60s,  there was a scene with his mother  looking through a scrap book of Jethro Tulls success in news paper clippings, etc. ,  sitting in a chair just being so pleased with his success.

I met him as a teenager in a small store in the Scottish Highlands near his fish farms. I said something like ' Oh wow, Ian, I'm a big fan' and he said 'Yes.' and shot quickly out of the store.

Thank you, Ian.
