I have to agree with the others. This is a truly great story! I have listened to two other stories i really enjoyed, but they weren't full of commercials every 5-10 minutes. The fact that this one was will make me look for a different sight. I listen to stories to help me fall asleep at night, and every time I started to doze, the commercials would wake me up. It was nice while it lasted.
Even with 2 phone calls and a 3rd interruption, this was an excellent story. I intend to revisit it late one night when I think I can enjoy it completely. Thank you for posting it.
If the Duke was already set to marry Lady Augusta I don't understand why she had to cut up her dress in front of the ball. Why would y'all leave the duplicate book there? It's part of the evidence. The Duke was in the attic with Cordelia so if he is saying the same thing as Cordelia why does the magistrate not believe him?
Stories about English dukes always follow a certain pattern—which is interesting, and, interestingly enough, also exciting. Because these are the kinds of plots that make for exciting stories: there are heroes with good character who must defeat villains, and in the end, everything turns out well, the good guys are happy, and if they haven’t died, they’re still alive today. Just like in fairy tales or in a classic mystery novel, where the world has to be in order by the end. On top of that, there are some ideas drawn from women’s emancipation. I’m pretty sure that back then there were no professional female accountants or other women—especially as the wife of a duke—who practiced a trade or provided a service. By the way, there weren’t nearly as many dukes at the beginning of the 19th century as there are stories about them.
