Even though the whole “turn Thomas and his friends into spider abominations” is kind of overplayed, I’m really impressed with the animation here. I especially liked all the carvings on the wall.
Someone I really wanna see In This engine of chaos style is duke, because he and Henry are actually in a smiler situation. Henry got walled up in a tunnel, and duke got put in his shed and forgotten, Henry only stayed in the tunnel for a year or so, but duke? He sat, in his shed, for twenty years. Imagine how insane he might have went? But as we all know…
Y’know, I could tie together a story around this and the previous videos.
Put yourself in the shoes of Sir Topham Hatt for a moment. One of your engines is too caring for his “Lovely green paint and red stripes”, and refuses to come out of a tunnel to avoid ruining it. You try everything to get him to move, but he just doesn’t. So you just give up, pull away the rails, build walls on the openings of the tunnel, and leave him like that. But still, it is quite inhumane and rather extreme considering he just wanted his looks not getting soiled by the rain.
He stays like that trapped in the tunnel, watching as other trains fly by through the other bore. He doesn’t cause much to happen, so you kind of forget he exists. But then one night, you have a vision of being at that tunnel during a stormy night, but there’s just so much off.
The hillside around the two bores looks just a little different from how you remember it, some things have been added in that you don’t remember being there. But the most development has happened inside the tunnel.
You see that big green tender engine, now degraded into some abomination beyond human comprehension, mumbling, holding over his elongated, deformed face with his many lanky arms, sporadic writing and drawings all over the walls of the tunnel about how much he wants out. You wake up, and that morning, the express train you’re on bursts its safety valve. Then you see the engine you walled up in the other tunnel. He’s still the same as he was when you locked him in there, albeit a little sooty.
You let him out, as the only engine available is too weak to manage the heavy coaches. But your mind is still racing with that bizarre nightmare you just had last night. What if it doesn’t require a specific scenario, but can just happen by pure chance?
Your mind paints that picture for you. You see the pilot engine of the big station, in his shed, only to turn into a long necked centipede thing like the one the engine in the tunnel became. And no matter how much you reassure yourself such scenarios are impossible, you’re forever stuck having nightmares of Thomas, the Spawn of Shelob.
Overall, pretty neat and horrifying animation you created over here! Seeing another upload from the channel is something I never expected to see, and one thing I’d be interested in is seeing you tackle an already horrifying franchise (Say, Five Nights At Freddy’s), considering you could create nightmares like this out of a kids’ franchise of all things.
As a Thomas fan, I don’t really like the cursed spider train versions of the characters, but this is PHENOMENAL! I love the reference to the episode, and how it’s a new character that isn’t Thomas, which puts into perspective how many engines actually are on Sodor, but just know Henry was let out of the tunnel in the next episode in the show ;)
I have a backstory for this dark fan made Thomas world.
Henry discovered that he had gotten a disease that turns the vehicles that have faces into giant insect mutant creatures. Henry tried to warn the others about the disease, but they didn’t believe him, they thought he was going insane. So, Sir Topham Hatt/The Fat Controller put Henry back in the tunnel until Henry got better. (Think of it like an asylum, but for engines.) but now Henry’s disease has gotten worse and now he’s a beast. And even worse… The disease has spreaded… now Thomas has the same disease that Henry has…
If the diesel engines start appearing in the Engine of Chaos series, I wonder how they would be portrayed as spiders, since their faces are more rectangular than the faces of the steam engines
I like to see how actual lore is added to this as well! Like how Henry's insanity likely transformed him into a spider and those carvings in the walls! Neat details! What I also wonder is : Can Thomas and others still talk in their monster forms? It would be terrfying to see them mock Sir Topham Hat as they chase him!
