The NZ and Australian SAS were also in Malaya. We had the honour of being trained by these men and many were the SAS also in Vietnam and many other undisclosed countries

In those days there was no TV and they took the time to defeat the bad guys. Today 4 months (Iran) is considered a long time. People have this crazy notion that, as in the movies the good guys go in and finish off the job in a few days. This is not how things work out in real life. Nice documentary.

Great to see these docos.

More are needed to remind us of problems in the past and privation endured by allied soldiers to fight these people.

3xYrs after end of WW2. And the 'Regiment', Was RE-Formed, after Being Dis-Banded. Following the end of WW2. And the 'Regiment', was Then known as 'The Malayian Scouts'. Later the B Re-Known as '22nd Special Air Service'. A d from that moment on. FORMALLY Commissioned as 'Regular' unit, within the British Army. And one of the 1st tactics the 'Regiment', devised. Was 'TREE JUMPING'. Where they parachuted out of the a Skylab Aircraft. And Land onto the High canopy of the forest. Then use rope. Attached to a troopers leg pouch. And then absail, down, to the jungle ground.

For a war that was essentially Britain's Vietnam, I'm surprised no game studios have decided to cover the Malayan Emergency
