Clearing, Cleaning & Reclaiming Our French Citadelle

Another week at our French Citadelle, and we're slowly reclaiming more of the garden, cleaning up a little more of the house, and making plans for what comes next.
This week Rols finally completes the laurel hedge, reclaiming around 100 square metres of garden in the process, while Suzie tackles 300 years of dust and grime on some of the old kitchen tiles.
We also take a look at the large granite slabs and capping stones left over from our recent projects and discuss some ideas for what we might do with them. We'd love to know what you think!
Then it's back outside as we tackle a seriously overgrown bramble hedge in the rear garden. Rols reaches for the brush cutter while Suzie takes the more careful approach with the pruners — especially after discovering a rose hiding amongst the brambles!
There's also some final ivy to remove, a rather spectacular Pink October motorcycle procession passing the garden, and the beginning of our plans for a new wildlife camera. We're hoping it will eventually give us a glimpse of some of the wildlife around the Citadelle, including our owls, hedgehogs and perhaps even the coypu.
And finally, Suzie takes us on a gentle walk past some of the roses that are still blooming.
No great drama this week — just another little piece of life at our 600-year-old French Citadelle.
