I went for a walk along the Sanur beachfront today and there's a bit of news worth talking about. The tourism minister has been meeting with other ministers and they've agreed to put a proposal to parliament that would let Australians enter Indonesia without paying the visa fee. The idea is to bring tourism numbers back up and it could make a real difference for anyone planning a trip over here. Beyond that it was just a lovely day for a walk. I bumped into a few people who watch the channel, which is always nice. I stopped for an iced coffee that I have to tell you about and I had lunch at the Andaz and I came away surprised at how good it was.

Hi Adam, I'm from the U.S. but have been living in Indonesia since 1984. I live in Jakarta but always look forward to and love hanging out Bali when I get the opportunity. This is my first time commenting but I have been following your videos for quit sometime and even though I've been here more than 40 years I continually learn something new and interesting and I'm able to add to and improve my Indonesian vocabulary. I am Colombian and Australian, it was honestly a bit of a shock when I found out I had to take my Colombian passport to enter Indo as we don't pay for a visa - I think it changed in Oct 2024- we normally get a lot of trouble and quite harsh visas to go anywhere, of course more of a shocker that my Colombian passport had more power than my Australian in there. A saving in visa = more massages 😊

Indonesia and mainly Bali are losing tourists to Vietnam and Cambodia! My March flight Perth to Vietnam direct with a full service airline was $600au return all in during high season. $1au a beer on the beach and cheap restaurants $1 coconut anywhere ultra cheap food, Bali just cant compete with keeping many working class Aussie visitors anymore and they were always their bread&Butter tourists. In some respects Bali is outpricing itself, it really isnt that cheap anymore.

Bali Tourism office should be throwing you a couple of bucks mate.
You've made me comfy enough to plan a trip there.
I would be shaking the tree a little, you give great info, honest opinion and no fluff that influencers usually do.
People saying Bali is exy, still cheaper than a holiday in QLD even flights are similarly priced.

I'm heading to Bali this weekend and staying at the Hyatt Regency. It'll be my first time to Bali, so I'm looking forward to experiencing Sanur, the surrounding areas along the beachfront and exploring these places with my own eyes!

I pay ~$2k USD for my flight to Bali from Toronto, CAN. After that? Not even $500 for 3 weeks, including hotel. I don't stay in tourist areas. Bali is not expensive unless you choose for it to be.

I love that stretch of the boardwalk, walked it so any times and can't wait to get back next year. My favourite is Costas - I'd snag a seat and sit there for hours, eating and drinking and just staring at the ocean. Lovely shade and often a cooling breeze off the water.

Seagrass beds vital for the turtles. An awesome example is at Nusa Dua beach & the turtles nest there. Staff do an amazing job of caring for the nests.

If the authorities genuinely are concerned about visa abuse and illegal activities by foreigners—especially Russians—it appears contradictory to consider expanding visa-free access for countries that are already linked to serious enforcement and compliance issues.

Many Balinese argue that Bali's problems with traffic, waste, and uncontrolled development are not mainly the result of tourism itself, but of decades of poor governance, corruption, and selective enforcement of the law by local elites, developers, officials, and politicians.
