PLEASE READ: More full disclosure-as it turns out, that piece is NOT gold. It appears to be raw copper ore. I apologize for getting ahead of myself. Thank you to @procrastinator1727 for questioning it. It pushed me to investigate it further.

I hope you and Jim prove me wrong, but these high end detectors from what I keep seeing just don't work well in the northeast (they are designed in other parts of the countries and world) with separating just gold targets with all of our iron, lead and magnetite. But I usually will pan the pockets they find the lead in and get some small gold, so they do help show you where the heavies are settling 🙂
And I agree for that price that screen is a joke

Thanks for sharing new to this hobby. Just recently bought a budget friendly bounty metal detector. Look foward seeing what i find.

Since you had other detectors and lots of field use...your early review is honest. Glad you scored on your hunt. Carry to sets of headphones and maybe cheap 2 X bluetooth earbuds.

Existing stuff! Thank you for the honist review. So far I might just invest in one.. Will give it another couple of months though. Need to make sure the dam thing does a good job for that price.

Nice find  Scott! Cool video

Way to go Scott. Great review.

Hey, scott, that was cool.Looking forward to seeing what you find with the metal detector i need to get out that way someday soon, gold big enough You can find with a metal detector I'll spend all day on that 😆 also, I'll be contacting you soon when I'm finished with the next run of the battery boxes

Nice copper nugget .Nice machine also.

Good work 👨‍🦯

Put the coil on the ground and wave a ring over it..  If it detects the ring at 700mm then its as good as a gpx5000.

Great Video Scott!!! Who at Nokta thought that screen was a good size? Jeeezzz!!! That was a miss!!! Happy to see you are enjoying your new toy in spite of the screen!

That’s a nice nugget… should help offset some of the cost! LOL

Happy to see you enjoying yourself! 🤓

Try Run Algoforce 1500 plus in high mineralized iron give better result in iron the magnetar 9000 looks like awesome detector

The NOKTA, as was the AXIOM, I found them very underwhelming. The 9000 is much like the 7000 but way over priced. Running Xcoils on a 7 will out do the 9. Disappointing that Nokta set a price to complete with the 7 and 8 where it's performance is more like a standard 5000. It's at least $5kAUD over priced for the performance we are seeing. While the 8 is horribly noisy and difficult to learn, it out performs everything on the market with the possibility exception of some modified 4500/5000 machines. Thanks for your honest review 😉

Soon know when it comes to the land down under

It must be frustrating for existing owners now Nokta has decimated the price. I hope they do something good for those who went early. A couple of time I thought I had a speccy only to clean it up and find it was a very old copper jacket bullet. I need glasses to closely inspect so I’m easily fooled.

You sure that's not copper Scott? I've found bits just like that coated in a rocky crust. When the crust is dissolved in acid and cleaned up it looks a bit like gold. Just odd for gold to be completely coated in crust like that... iron stone not too uncommon but usually always some gold poking out and the iron stone looks quite different.

I have to ask you're complaining about the screen being too small well why didn't you get the magnetar 10,000 the screens like almost twice the size it's getting better reviews yeah and it's kind of a low key machine for some reason like nobody knows about it but yeah I was wondering everybody's swinging to 9000 and the 10,000 bigger screen better depth maybe you got to be in the cool club to get those I don't know😅

Someone will eventually compare the Magnetar to a Minelab; then we'll know how good it is. My first impression is no thank you.
